I am a person who is so for equal rights of every human being that it angers me at times. Women's rights, gay rights, etc etc. But some people in minorities or misrepresented groups simply use their position of underappreciatedness by the white man to try to become overappreciated by everyone else. Campaigning for women's rights does not mean women should campaign to have everything in their favor. All I want for myself is the privilege every straight man has, and I understand that gay rights doesn't mean that we should try to oppress straight people after years of our own oppression in America. Some feminists are angry enough to try to keep inequality but have it favor them, which is wrong.

Wow, there's a meteric fuck ton of differant views on feminism. So to ensure I'm not going to get flamed and have to defend myself I'll put my views on the issue in simple, unmisinterpetable sentances.

People who fight for equality for men and women to the best point they can are good people with good intentions. As long as their goal is Men=Women or Women=Men, then more power to them. Saftey and pay equality for both sexes are great goals that everyone will benifit from.

Men who are sexist bastards to women and believe that women only belong in the kitchen/house are terrible. In fact, anyone who tries to make it so Men>Women to the point of women being property and able to be ordered around as slaves deserve to be drugged and sent to an all female tribe in the Amazon.

On the other hand, women who believe that all men are rapists/exploiters/sexists and should be exterminated/used for reproduction are just as bad as men who are extreame in their belief of Men>Women. These people who are just as extreme in their views of Women>Men and will push and push just as much as their counterparts, deserve to be drugged and sent to one of those backwards, batshit crazy Middle-Eastern countries.

To sum it up...

Men=Women is good.

Men>Women is bad.

Men<Women is just as bad.

Of course this is just the two extremes between the two, we still have a ton of gender sterotypes, sexism and gender sub-culture issues to be deal with. It's going to be a rough road.

What it comes down to is not what it means to be female, but what it means to be male. "Man" needs to be redefined for this whole thing to work. The masculine needs to include taking up housework and childrearing, all those typically feminine, and unpaid might I add, jobs. I think we also need to stop devaluing the role that home parenting and housework have, whoever does them.

Sadly, I witnessed a woman despise the idea of a man taking care of the house and family. She open heartedly declared herself "machist" in that respect, which made me like her a lot less.

Overall, the one aspect lacking in most if not all of feminist philosophy throughout the decades is the inclusion of the male population in the progress this movement professes.

For example, there's still a vast undercurrent of immaturity shaping the male culture that's rarely addressed in dignified manner. A lot of of that, mixed with a unhealthy amount of unhandled insecurities, ignite many attitudes that almost make ashamed to be a dude.

Almost, because a moment later it hits me that I don't take part in that bs.
