It just fits for fight music
Uh... Perhaps, this?
It's got "Fight" in the title. That's bound to be worth something.

I know I'm going to sound like a dick for this, and I'm not trying to start a flame war, but this just pisses me off.Hussmann54 said:No offense to anyone but I am just as good as those drummers simply because I can double bass and screaming into a microphone doesnt require much talent either.
Matt Freeman bass solo ftw!AgentNein said:I'm not really the fighting kinda guy, but if I were I'm a sucker for early (well, earlier) Rancid

of course it works best if you're an anime gunfighter.
And the Over-Generalization of the Year Award goes too...Hussmann54 said:I cant do all the "AAAHHH RAAGGGGEEE METAL BLLLAAAAHHHHH!!!" No offense to anyone but I am just as good as those drummers simply because I can double bass and screaming into a microphone doesnt require much talent either.
Thats the second part of why I hate alot of music in those genres. It all sounds too alike. Thats why I dont do "Covers". Now granted I did do alot of imitation when I was first learning how to play but I would like to think I have moved beyond all that ten years later. I make my own rhythms and... well I dont really know the term for it but I guess my own "piece". Me and a friend who was very good at playing just about anything on a guitar (Rock, rap styles, metal, old funk, reggae blue grass, you name it.) would just sit around and freestyle it and some of my best bits have come from regular old jam sessions where neither person had any remote idea of exactly what would be played.PlainTwo said:I know I'm going to sound like a dick for this, and I'm not trying to start a flame war, but this just pisses me off.Hussmann54 said:No offense to anyone but I am just as good as those drummers simply because I can double bass and screaming into a microphone doesnt require much talent either.
Please, could you possibly post some covers of metal songs of you on vocals and drums? Then maybe I'll believe you when you say they don't have talent.
Once again, I'm sorry, but people who say 'so and so requires no talent' but actually can't do it themselves, just piss me off.
Please, if you can, prove me wrong.

anyhoo I like my fights to be EPIC, with alot of God chanting going on.
hell yeah.
It does when you ignore major parts. That's like saying that Pink Floyd was just a bunch of dudes on Acid.Hussmann54 said:Unfortunately "over generalization" doesnt necessarily mean "wrong"

And how did yall get the video to feed. My link wasnt working....
What major part am I supposed to be missing? The part where I should just accept every thing that the media throws at me and say "since its popular, its good" or the part where all those artists "tried there best" so they should all get a big purple frickin "Participation" ribbon and a pat on the back for it.HatchetDown said:It does when you ignore major parts. Popularity and the media has nothing to do with it, plenty of different genres are popular, I'm defending sense more than I am Metal. The point is that Metal is laced with a whole lot more intricacies than you give it credit for. It's a lot more than just BLAAARGH. The way the vocals are performed DOES actually take more talent and skill than you might think and all of the guitar players, drummers, and bassists are usually classically trained, and if not have a good grasp of music as a whole. It's one thing if Metal isn't "up you're alley", but to discredit it as not being valid music is a whole other.Hussmann54 said:What major part am I supposed to be missing? Wait a second! Metal has been around for a while. Its a big boy now. It can pour milk on its own cereal and go potty by itself. Why on earth does it need defending? Its not like at the end of the day I decide the fate of metal. It certainly doesnt need its fan base to defend it.
Sure, I'll respect your opinion, but, I'll tell you that 'banging senselessly fast' on the drums is just a stereotype for metal I really hate.Hussmann54 said:Thats the second part of why I hate alot of music in those genres. Ok ok ok so I admit: Im not as good as most "Professional metal drummers". I can bang on the drums senselessly as loud and fast as I can. But they are better. They bang around on the drums faster and harder than me. Thats about the only difference..... I cant think of a single drummer in a metal, or "hair band", or death metal, or screamo etc etc etc that can play like Ed Shaunhaessey did may he rest in peace. (I think I screwed up the spelling on that last name)
As for the vocals..... well I would like to keep my vocal cords intact thank you very much. And seeing as I have a lung condition that screws with my respiratory systems, Im by no means a good singer, (unless you count showers and car radios). But then I dont think Auto tune could save most lead singers now and days. Im not raising myself up to their level, Im just pointing out that they arent that far ahead of most regular people.
