I yet again have Valve vs BioWare. This time, though, Commander Shepard is my favourite store on The Citadel. Or something.

Also, I eliminated Zynga at the first round to a company I don't even know out of sheer principle. I don't care if it costs me some silly laptop, I will not have a repeat of last year!

Whatever, just wash your hands.
Go Relic, you can do it, show everyone how to make a rts game

altho I dont like the idea of an award for getting your vote right since it seems like it sort of rewards not voting for who you want to win but who you know will, like in bracket one I know team meat is gonna be stomped by blizz but that doesnt mean Im gonna vote blizz

Some of these choices were really hard but I want to thank you and Alienware for finally making a contest that those of us outside of the US can enter.

You are welcome! We wanted to make sure an international event had international prizes and Alienware was all about it. We are also giving prizes out to the development studios who come in 1st through 4th as well. Those are directly through The Escapist though (free ad campaigns).

Nice this will be my first time filling out a bracket. Some really tough choices in it though..

Ended up giving it to Blizzard over Valve. We'll see how many people agree with me.

Zynga? AGAIN? I'm just gonna leave some of these here:

<a href=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.186204-Valve-vs-Zynga>Our victory After taking out Rockstar, Squeenix, and Infinity Ward, Escapist members rallied the community to help Valve beat Zynga.

OT: tough matches this year. I don't think Valve is taking home the gold this time, due to their lack of recent releases, and the TF2 community's general grumbling over hats, paint, and the ruining of the original artistic/balanced game.

EDIT: awww, wtf, man! Prof. Layton vs Civ 5?......uggggghhhhh ;^; Nintendo vs Minecraft?! Epic vs ICO? You guys are truly ruthless bastards this year!

EDIT2: Awright, ended up with a final four of Blizzard, Bioware, Epic Games, and Valve, with Blizzard taking the championship over Valve; all their work on Cataclysm and Starcraft 2 overshadows the small updates Valve is churning out. Maybe Portal 2 could've swayed things in Valve's favor, but it still isn't out yet.

Beyond the choosing-betwixt-children (Double-Fine vs. Valve? Gah!) and the truly unfair (Mojang vs Nintendo? Noooo!), this is a good selection you've got here. Bracket = filled.

I see Zynga is here again. You guys are masochistic.
Unfair? There is Zynga against cryptic! How is that more fair? I fear that \b\ will be called again.
As I've said, our mods are masochists. This is going to be tough to watch.

Hmm... Completely by accident I ended up with Bioware vs. Valve at the end. Again. Time for an upset, people?
I did the same thing myself good sir. I really don't care as long as those two or someone else wins. Maybe I'll finally be right for once in this contest! :D

Funny how quickly people forget that Valve put an advert for last years MM in the Steam launcher bringing in "2-post members who were never heard from again after voting for Valve".

This is going to be interesting after the first round.

I have Blizzard winning it all, and Valve getting upset by Double Fine in the first round.

True! But this was after Valve supporters ran helter skelter to all corners of the internet for support (I still remember the mind-rape that occurred when someone suggested we invite everyone's favorite "personal army"). Someone inevitably mentioned it in the Steam forums, and lobbied hard enough to get someone at Valve to mention it (once) in the Steam launcher.

And, after all, since history is written by the victors...

I just couldnt do it realisticly. I am too much idealistic for that....
There were a few very tough choices nevertheless.

Filled it out, came down to Bethesda vs Epic, which is rather odd... Anyway, couldn't find NCsoft/ArenaNet there, which is kinda strange since i remember them being in last year, and ArenaNet is supposed to be an important developer if they release Guild Wars 2 this year.
