Goodness! That's a gutsy bracket right there! I love Notch as much as the next PC gamer, but >I think HeartGold, SoulSilver, 3DS, and a bunch of mascot Wii games are gonna put Nintendo over the top.
>I can't see Blizzard leaving the race anytime before the final four. Cataclysm and Starcraft II are too gigantic to ignore.
>Ubisoft got knocked out by Bethesda in my bracket. While not a true fan of The Elder Scrolls, I've played enough to know that I love their design and execution. While Assassin's Creed is fun and all, I'm still docking Ubisoft major points for the DRM that blew up in their face. Seriously, they couldn't have implemented it more poorly if they had tried.
See i didnt rate mine in standards of company management. I would of docked points too for the DRM shit. I rated the companies on the standard and inovation of their games.
Wish i put their manigerial standards into acount now..

So I'm filling out my bracket, right? And I first come up with "Blizzard VS Team Meat." As much as I enjoyed Super Meat Boy, I have to wave bye-bye to them because come on, Blizzard made WoW. So then I'm sad, but I click next. Now it says "Guerrilla VS Insomniac." Oh, Escapist, you dirty dirty bastard. Why do you make me make such a tough decision in the first round? I am a very sad panda indeed.

EDIT: Bioware VS Telltale?! AUGH! I was hoping Telltale would at least make it to round two. :(

Ah its that time again where supporters will brandish their swords, guns, lasers, brawling gloves, musical gaming instruments and....farm plants?....among so many others things as supporters mass together for the bloodiest time on the escapist. The March Mayhem...where yes there will be mayhem!!

Joking aside, it should be interesting how it will be this year. I'm well aware of some of the results that came from the previous March Madnesses but there's also the fact that some of these developers are bringing out which I deem as "hard-hitting" titles this year. As one trying to accurately predict who would win or who would lose on the brackets, I find it will be tough to do so.

Man when I was filling this out I think half the time I was apologizing to the studios I wasn't voting for - there are are several match ups that leave me without a clear favorite and a large number where I know I'll be voting for a studio that's likely to be crushed.

For the most part I tried to pick likely winners instead of those studios I want to win, although I did choose Mojang to beat Nintendo which is going to screw up an entire quarter of my board but it's a choice that makes me feel good about myself. :) And my victor is more of a hope than a safe bet, although I do think that studio will go quite far.

Hmm... Completely by accident I ended up with Bioware vs. Valve at the end. Again. Time for an upset, people?
I did the same thing myself good sir. I really don't care as long as those two or someone else wins. Maybe I'll finally be right for once in this contest! :D
Iput Bethesda beating BioWare.

A fanboy can dream... :p

Actually, Fallout 3 is our favourite game [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.198540-The-Escapist-Communitys-Top-100-The-Results]...
I'm really looking forward to a Bioware vs. Bethesda fight, they're both excellent CRPG developers and I'll be happy whoever gets it even though I'll be voting for Bethesda without batting an eye.

Given the popularity that Skyrim is generating at the moment I don't think a Bethesda win over Bioware is at all out of the question.

I am liking this Alienware thingemy. Althoug isn't this encouraging us to vote for who we think will win as opposed to who we want to like it has always been before?

Regardless, I have voted for who I want to, I don't think it will go the way I voted at all.
Not really. The only thing you can win from your bracket would be a badge. Regardless of who you have chosen in the brackets, you still get 25 entries towards the random prize drawing. The brackets are just for fun and bragging rights.

I'm really conflicted with some of these.

Am I picking for which one I want to win? Or which one I think will win?
From my understanding of the rules, you get points for guessing who will win the match-up correctly, but for some of these matchups (Treyarch vs. Popcap) I am very sure Treyarch will win, but I want popcap to win, simply because their games are not dripping in fail juice.

Considering my luck with contests is extremely terrible, I think I'll just vote for the one I want to win, and to hell with the results.

Ah, thank you for clarifying. My fault for being lazy regarding the rules, but I appreciate the response.

No problem at all. There is a lot of info on the rules page.

Bethesda all the way. Look at what they've made, and ask yourself if any other single player game has ever offered as much entertainment as the Elder Scrolls. 60 dollars for 100 hours of gameplay, with infinite diversity and engaging story and combat? Search your heart, you know it to be true.

In the category of "Most addictive/fun multiplayer games", it's a toss up between Blizzard for their MMO and strategy goodness and Valve for their excellent shooters. Since I don't play online it'll probably come down to which demographic is larger (i.e. Blizzard's).

Bethesda provides incredible value and excellent products. They also produce games at a pretty quick pace, and their DLC is usually worth it. When it comes to release schedules, Blizzard and Valve simply don't come close.

OT: The Captcha kept giving me impossible symbols, including the capital Beta, omega, and some squiggly abomination that looked kinda like an ampersand that had been brutally violated. Then there were the times where the letters could not even be read. If possible, could the Escapist somehow get a Captcha where each letter is a different color? It would look a lot less like a horrible messy blob that way.

Bungie. Relic. Bioware. DICE. You are the Four Horsemen of the Gaming Apocalypse of Awesomeness, and I shall support you until my dying day. Sadly you will probably be beaten by Valve, Blizzard, Bethesda and the like, but I shall go down as a martyr with you!

Ahem. Yeah, this'll be fun. Also, let's all team up and beat Zynga to a pulp early on this time. As fun as it was last year, it'd get boring year after year if it always turned into a massive all-out war in the semi finals.

I'll rally the troops on their forums, should be fun :D

Although have you seen the number of BioWare fanboys on this site? Should be very, very interesting. They were toppled by Valve last year, if I remember correctly.
March Mayhem generally gets some attention on the Bethesda forums and on Bethesda's Blog. As for Bioware, it's popularity is well earned and with both Dragon Age 2 and Mass Effect 3 in developement there will be plenty of buzz around them as well. :)

Some of those choices were just cruel and usual! D:

That said, go Blizzard, Bioware, Nintendo and Valve! Fuck yeah!

Mojang vs Nintendo? Tough luck for Minecraft I suppose. I know its one of the most popular indie games on the market right now, but Nintendo invented the modern gaming market and practically introduced all of us to gaming. There is no comparison.
