Final Fantasy VII Remake Pushed Even Further From Possibility

Starting a post with a 4chan meme, this is going to be fun.

4.) John did not insult me anywhere.

Gamers today are just exposed to mindless corridor shooting action games that only require you to press the X button over and over. There's no depth or atmosphere to games like there used to be.

By, as you can see, your very own John. Now as I scan your XBLA profile, which you conveniently put on display for everyone on the Escapist, I can see you happen to enjoy titles like Halo or L4D. This is good and all, but Johny here, thinks that you are so low on the food chain that you can only enjoy " mindless corridor shooting action games that only require you to press the X button over and over".

It doesn't need to have your name on it to be directed towards you. When I say that every Asian is a small **** douchbag(which is completely untrue, mind you, but still, an example is needed) you will see a hoard of Asian men trying to defend the size of their manhood, would you blame them? You don't think this is enough of a provocation? It was an attack geared towards a whole group of people, Heresy decide to answer to the provocation. Now I would probably say that John didn't intend to do that, but his following responses weren't that great either.

I just want to mention that Johny boy could have gone in a lot more civilized manner from the get go, he didn't, he got called out. Was Heresy "smug, arrogant, and insulting as you can get"? Probably, but I seem to value truth and sincerity more than false courtesy(in a discussion at least).

I don't know who you are, but you could probably be contributing valuable opinions to relevant topics rather than scanning four month old arguments between strangers.

In my defense, the thread was on page 1, I rarely check dates. If I knew this was several months old, I probably wouldn't have bothered. Someone probably necroed.

Before you try to tell me you're not new based on join date, let me tell you that no matter when you joined, you only have 200 posts worth of experience on these forums, I think it's idiotic to judge opinions based on post count, and I'm not doing this here, my numbered reasons above are why I disagree with your point, I'm only using the post count as a reason to offer you advice above.

Keep in mind that you are defending someone who attacked a whole group of people, this tends to attract more people into the discussion.

Anyway, you probably think I'm a total dick right now, but that's not my intention, I'm just really sick of people telling me off for defending those who are groundlessly attacked, especially when I'm not rude doing it.

No, not really. You have so far been polite and kept things in a civilized manner (4chan memes excluded). The difference in opinion seems to stern from the difference of perspective.


Anyway, the thread is old, let it die, if you think we need to continue this discussion further please PM me about it, I would much prefer to let old threads stay dead.

Holy crap, I am NOT reading this, I can tell I'm not going to like you very much.

Feel free to browse all the old threads and comment on how my polite defense of people being attacked is horrible and likely to start flamewars of epic proportions, knock yourself out.

I don't belive that a FF7 remake is not THAT hard to do if they would STOP building their own damn proprietary engines and use some kind of middle-ware engine like Unreal Engine or Crytek.

Or how about Xenogears? Huge game, lot of fun, crazy story that could suck you in. Starts to feel like they just gave up at disc two though, they could fix that, retool the story a bit, make the whole thing fit in with Xenosaga better.

well connecting the two is cuurently impossible simply because Xenosaga was made by the same people who made Xenogears but work for a different company now aka Namco. SE (have the copyright of the game) can make a Xenogears prequel/sequel but yeah it wont be the same.

OT: I also believe their saying this to stop people from asking them about it anymore.

This puts me at a crossroad of sorts. You see out of all the Final Fantasy's I've played 7 was the only one I though wasn't shit. I've played 10, it was kind of bad. I've played 10/2, and it was easily forgettable. Played 12 and I thought it was a mishandle disaster. Then there was 13 which was similar to a plastic bag, it looks nice and shiny but it has no soul. Then we have 13/2 which has no right to exist and the other ones are being juggled around. While I would like to replay the only Final Fantasy game I liked, I also think if I played it today now being exposed to better RGP games I'd treat it the same way Yahtzee treated 13. At this point I'd be content if they just made Kingdom Hearts 3 and died off afterwards.
