Whine? For god sake, Fanboy (because they are at this point) attack people that doesn't love the game and it's whinning? Really, doesn't people have the right to their opinion? That's funny, because those angry filled reply are really the same thing. In fact, doesn't reply angry post saying STFU THEY ARE OK is the very definition of whining. That could be a debate all on their own.
As for promises, It wouldn't be the first time we get lied to. I'm not talking to the world at large, just in gaming. From Hideo Kojima to freaking Peter Moleniux (I won't waste the five second to google his name). Hell, they said the same thing with FF14 and look. People claim that it make look Age Of Conan like a World Of Warcraft in a holodeck. Time is always a big factors in game, some of the lesser title could have major hit if not for time. Rush Production of a triple A title can really hurt the game.
The Only thing you show me is promises. It's impossible to tell if they will do it, but from the pick I saw. No... I don't believe them. It's marketing bullshit and frankly shouldn't be listen to. Because I would be surprise of a marketing where the selling speach is: THAT GAME IS SO BAD, YOU'LL INVENT A TIME MACHINE TO GET THE MINUTES BACK.
Sigh.. Why am I doing this? I'm not saying people shouldn't have opinions! Please actually read properly.. Your profile says you're Canadian.. Therefore I'd assume you should be able to understand English rather well. I meant no form of insult or racism by what I said. Merely wondering why you're completely dodging my point and forming your own view of what I've said, essentially putting words in my mouth that I never said. Please read more carefully, sir.
And seriously.. It's don't. Not doesn't. That's.. Basic English. The utmost basic. :/ I mean no disrespect, it's just very hard to read your posts professionally..

You know, people love to hit on foreign people when they don't agree with them. I now wonder if it's a point will all English people or just fanboyish attitude for being hurt that the world doesn't agree with them. Hell, I'll have the decency not to laugh at you if you attempted to speak my language. Show some respect!
Again, I'm not a fanboy of FFXIII. I
despise the term "fanboy". Absolutely hate it. I play whatever games I want to play, no matter which company designed it. That's MY choice to decide. I'm in no way claiming that FFXIII was flawless. Far. From. It. There were MANY issues I had with the game, but as I have discussed with others who also "merely enjoyed" FFXIII and those apathetic to the whole series, what it offered was fine. As I stated previously, no one HAS to like a game. Ever. I really do not care if a person loves/hates/likes/tolerates a game/thing. Caring about that kind of thing is pointless. What annoys me is when people just blatantly insult the game and anyone who plays it. (I'm saying this for games
I dislike as well, so calling me a fanboy is you just being silly. Sorry, but that's the truth.)
Sure, anyone's free to "not like something", just don't abuse others for actually liking it for what it offered to THEM. I feel I have every right to say this, because it's incredibly "middle ground". I don't ***** about a game because
I think it's bad. I respect others views, put away the game and play something else.

Yeah, that's my point! This guy, compare to the whole cast of FF13, came on top. I could say the same thing with Yuffie, but now it's getting into the being mean just to be mean category.
...What. You just made zero sense again. Did you even get far enough to have Fang in your party? Fang is the Auron of FFXIII. Absolutely awesome character, who possesses a GIANT TRANSFORMING DRAGON (Bahamut) as her Eidolon. Dude. GIANT. ROBOT. TRANSFORMING. DRAGON. Plus Sazh is hilarious and awesome. I
will be annoyed if FFXIII-2 has no appearance of either of those two, they're brilliant characters. Quite happy to see Hope die in a fire though, no argument there.

Most of the reply I saw didn't say anything about JRPG. Hell, those who don't like it doesn't even go near any thread about them. I don't know where you are getting that.
..What? How long have you been at The Escapist for? You mean to tell me you've never seen the comments threads for most JRPG news articles? It ALWAYS turns into WRPG vs. JRPG. JRPG's are ALWAYS bashed here. Yes, I've also seen many folks here who prefer JRPGs, but they either stay quiet during those "debates" because they're smart and just play what THEY want to play, or they end up getting bashed as well for defending a game they genuinely enjoyed. They should have no reason to DEFEND THEIR CHOICE OF GAME. That's absurd. Anyone that complains about it should simply just play whatever they DO enjoy. It's common courtesy to respect others choice of interest. Sure, have constructive criticism, say what you "didn't like", but neither side (for OR against) should be attacking/defending. One person might DESPISE FF12's battle system, one might DESPISE FF13's battle system. It doesn't mean anyone that DID like those systems should have to defend it from such vitriolic ranting. I'm trying to find a middle ground here, man. I'm saying I don't LIKE the ongoing argument over "THIS GAME SUCKS BUT THAT ONE IS BETTER, DEAL WITH IT, YO!"..
Neither person is incorrect. It's completely situational and depends on a person's individual tastes.
Example: I never played Assassin's Creed. Any of them. Ever. Not even the first one. I just didn't care for it enough to warrant a purchase. I didn't ***** about the game, saying it was bad and why I didn't buy it. No. I bought something else and played that. It's 2011 now. I was seeking recommendations on Twitter from Stephanie "Hex" Bendixsen and Steven "Bajo" O'Donnell, the hosts of Australia's games review show, Good Game. Hex has been majorly fangirling about the Assassin's Creed for weeks, so I took that as a recommendation to pick up AC1 & AC2. AC1 is from 2007 (or earlier?) I'm playing it NOW and enjoying it. I changed my opinion on the series, but I didn't love or hate it, I still don't love or hate it. I just.. Like playing that game. Simple.

I owned the game... I burned the disk and throw my strategy guide into the garbage. They wouldn't even take it back at my local game shop. Not even for credits, and yeah they are known for doing it. Their exact quote was: "To many return, we can't stock them anymore." So, yeah. I have played the game before saying my own point because It impossible to comment on something you don't at least tried.
Not my problem you burned it and threw it out. You chose to do that yourself. However, not a single person I've ever spoken to has ever had a problem trading in games, bad or not.

Moogle? Branching path? You know why I loved JRPG. For the story. Nothing about doing 35 branching sidequests but 5 story one. Bethesda, that one was aimed squarely at you. None of those promises bring anything that would fix the issues I got with the game. Nothing is said about fixing the environment, the character, the combat system... nothing. They do promise us that we will be able to move around like in Kingdom Hearts, Be able to choose some little story paths like Mass Effect 2 (The actual paragraph sound just like the Archangel mission. Yeah, when you are given the chance to kill the attack spacecopter's mechanic), Dark tones like L.A. NOIR and a captured monster system which sound like a mash-up of Pokemon and Lufia!
Sigh.. I never said what YOU specifically want. I stated what I've seen others say. Moogles (and Chocobos) are a STAPLE to the Final Fantasy franchise. Moogles were decidedly absent from FFXIII and folks were rather saddened by this. The simple things still got to people, but SE is TRYING to fix that. They're obviously not going to please everyone, and they don't plan to. FFXIII-2 will appeal to those who play it and enjoy it for what it has and what's been improved/added. Those that don't enjoy it? Simple, Play something else, the game is obviously not for you. Plenty of games out there! Plenty that you WILL like. It does NOT mean you get to complain about how supposedly "bad" the game is to those that like it. That's just cruel.

Can you keep your reply clean of insult?
Supposedly, there's even a Jump button. (In MY Final Fantasy game!? NO. Holy fuck. Why is it so hard to add a Jump button in FFXI (a nine year old game) or FFXIV (fix the major issues first, SE.. LIKE ADDING THE GOD DAMN CHOCOBOS AND AIRSHIPS!) then?)
I... But.. What!? Where did I insult you, exactly? Point out where in the above quote actually insulted YOU. Nothing. That's what I thought. I threw a jab at SquareEnix. Not you. You obviously can't "fix the issues of FFXIV" so how exactly is that even remotely directed towards you? I made the remark about the Jump button being in XIII-2 but not XI/XIV (the MMOs) purely at SquareEnix. I played Final Fantasy XI Online for FIVE (of the nine the game's been out) YEARS STRAIGHT. I believe I'm perfectly within my rights to comment harshly about there not being a Jump button and having to walk/run through an entirely different area to get to a different entrance BACK to the previous area to get to the top of a ledge. I'm sorry if that wasn't clear.
Now, because I value my sanity, this conversation is over. I didn't ask for a further argument with you. I merely posted a link (of which there are SEVERAL around the internet) from game sites praising the playthrough they got to test.. That SE article just happens to be written by their European community rep, who is NOT exactly obliged to be purely full of praise.
