Final Fantasy XIII Has Transformers

You know, 3 things constantly bother me with Japanese anime/game cutscenes:

- More often than not, one person ALWAYS has their back turned to the person they're having a conversation with.

- Bad guys more often than not have grey hair, or an army following them... Sometimes both.

- If and when there is a black character, his appearance is protrayed VERY stereotypical.

Sweet evil Jesus this looks BEAUTIFUL! Even for shitty youtube resolutions it looks fantastic, I predict I will jizz in my pants when I play it on the big screen in HD.

And the summons look magnificent!

This will be the best game ever. DO WANT!!!

Hrm...Seems good enough length for "Unskippable" material.

At first I thought the battle system was just the ATB (Active Time Battle) system again, and while I still get that impression...I think it's now adapting the combo system of "Chrono Cross".

Aside from all that, it looks pretty typical Final Fantasy stuff.

Well, its pretty. I can say that much. Its been pretty since the beginning, but I can still say I'm looking forward to this. This initial $100 price is a kick in the crotch, though.

Frankly people seem incredibly concerned about the plot of this one, and who the characters are. I prefer to trust in the writers. They haven't let me down with a truly awful story and with a few exceptions I really like most characters they create. It doesn't seem like they've made the main character a whiny, undeveloped character like Vaan, but I can't tell if they've made any characters brooding. Not that I have a problem with whiny or brooding characters as a whole, but, in the past, I've had to deal with some character I truly did not like who had these exact personalities. We need fewer Vaans and Squalls and more Balthiers, Agrias', Lockes and, well frankly I liked the entire cast of Final Fantasy IX.

Looks like it got everything a FF games usually got going for it. Which means I am going to stay far far away from it.

The black guy with the afro is my new most favorite final fantasy character ever. Hopefully I'm not mislead that he's a playable character?

Anyway, from that trailer it looked like this game has a lot of character development that FF12 was lacking, and it also looks like it will have a rich storyline that incorporates said development well. But that's just my impression.

Question out of curiosity whats your experiance with Final Fantasy?

It's the only game (FF8 I believe that was) I have ever fallen asleep while watching someone play. And I quickly learned it was just as boring when I got to play it. That was around the time it was new, so I thought I might appreciate the story and such a bit more now that I have grown up. Well, reading all about them on wikias and other sources only showed me that it is nothing but the usual japanese soap-opera. Something I cannot stand. Couple that with mindblowingly boring combat, and you got the best sleepingaid/cringeworthy game in existance. And they have managed to make more of these than we can count on our two hands.

So yeah, I am one of those who don't get why FF is so great. Wish the X360 got something else that was PS exlusive. Like Shadow of the Colossus or something.

*Sigh* god damn it, I hate having to do this because I really shouldn't have to. If you did not enjoy FF8 nothing says you will not enjoy any of the others, they are not sequels, they do not have the same world, battle system, characters, with the exception of a few constants like chocobo's and currency they are all very different to play and feel.

I get that you probably don't care what my opinion is but honestly WIKI and PLaying the 8th is like... bad, you can not decry a whole franchise like that. If this was Crazy Castle or something where it was the same game literally over and over, then sure I would conceed. But if you wanna give an opinion on 'the usual final fantasy fare' I think you should really actually experiance the 'final fantasy fare'

There is a very very VERY simple cure for this. play the demo. You might find you actually enjoy it.

Of course I care about your opinion. I just don't agree with it. I have played some of the others. Seen videos, read the stories behind most of them. And I cannot find one enjoyable thing about any of them. There are so much dramarama (the usual anime/manga stuff), so I am instantly not enjoying the story.

If I had time, I would download the demo and give it a spin. But I really don't think I need to after seeing that trailer. When the two most important things doesn't speak to me, then I have no reason to try it out. The story looks like the same old cliche JRPG, while the gameplay looks as boring as ever. Final Fantasy simply doesn't cater to my tastes at all. Much like MGS.

But hey, if you like it then good for you.
