Final Fantasy XIII Xbox360 Or PS3?

Well I hear the 360 is going to outsell the PS3 version so maybe you should get the PS3 one, eh?

I have both and am getting it on PS3, for a couple of reasons. No disc swapping and it just feels right playing a FF game with a Playstation controller (silly I know, but it would feel weird playing, say, ME on PS3)

This comment made me smile a little.
Playing on a playstation controller is as much part of the FF series as the disk swapping of FF7,8 and 9.

I was gonna say this, DIsk swapping is a part of Final Fantasy, namely 7,8 and 9. So that argument is invalid for me.

It wasn't an argument, I did say later if I don't ''have to disc swap why would I?'' If I had to it wouldn't bother me, it is just I have a choice and my choice was based on those two reasons rather than any fan(woman)ism to any console/developer, iyswim?

Besides, Mass Effect 2 and The Last Remnant used 2 disks, and Lost odyssey used 4 disks... does that mean... wait for it, (drum roll)

Lol, I know (I mentioned ME2 later as well) ;-) I also have Last Remnant and Lost Odyssey as I say it is doesn't really bother me, it's just if I don't have to......
But my PS3 really does need FFXIII, my 360 gets way more toys than my PS3

Same here, if I get a game, I always get it on the Xbox, heck, the only game I have for the PS3 is Heavy Rain. Damn achievements.

Funny thing is, my husband had the old Xbox and I always felt (I have quite small hands) that the controller was too big, but tbh, I love the Xbox/Xbox 360 controllers now, they feel great and you get far less cramping with it than you do with the Sony controller, in my experience.
I am a multi format gamer and view them all in a positive light they all have something great about them.

ok. there are differences, all are graphical (and audio too i guess,not that anyone but a supha audiophile will ever notice)

PS3 runs at 720P with MSAA X 2

360 runs at 576P with MSAA X 2 so its not actually HD.

so YES there are differences, i know which version im getting. but overall i doubt that anyone would notice unless they were side by side. still, im disappointed with square-enix. one would expect them to do a decent port of their flagship game.

I got DA:O on the PS3 for one of the same reasons I am getting FFXIII on it. Again, trying to preserve the limited life of my Xbox. I've already gone through 3 of the suckers. This one is going to last, dammit!

ps3, already pre ordered mine ^^, I haven't read any reviews about graphical differences of controls, I'm such a sucker for major Final Fantasy titles I never read reviews. I've only downloaded an HD trailer off PSN, watched it, decided to buy.

I don't mind disc changing, that's what we had to do back in the days of FF7 8 and 9, though in this day age, perhaps we expect to not have to disc change. Disc changing was because of story, not because you were in a certain location. By this I mean, if you were quite far into the story, and decided to go back to a previously visited map/location, you wouldn't have to change to disc1. If you did, that would piss me off.

makes me wonder if it will ever be out on the PC... maybe later when they decide to add directors cut or something along those lines (like in Kingdom Hearts)... it would be like FF13 Gold edition or something generic like that... Hmmmm....

Actually it does run on 720p. Unless your going to put up a link contradicting those above you don't really have an arguement.

looks like we are both right. PS3 version renders in game at 720P with 2XMSAA but the in game CG is played at 1080P.

I'm going with the 360. Partially to piss off all the blind PS3 fanboys and partially because I really hate the PS3 controllers so much now in comparison that every PS3 exclusive I get has felt like it has wishy-washy controls (except for Demon's Souls)

Except that 10, X-2, 11, and 12 don't have disk swapping. That and 1,2,3,4,5,and6 didn't need it either. Just Sayin'

The ps3 version is better in terms of graphics and uncompressed but other than that they play pretty much the same.

does this work for you? yes it supports 720 and lower but it does go to 1080

though from what my research has shown is that it's possibly 720 for gameplay and 1080 for cutscenes though that's not confirmed as far as i know

Fair enough, my 360 is only two weeks old (just upgraded from 20gig to 250gig) so it needs to earn it's supper ;-)

and for those wondering, i have just checked. its a definite, PS3 runs at 720P in game and 1080P in CG cut scenes. (time for me to go buy that full HD sharp LED backlit television i was looking at in JB today)

I always spend my own money when I buy games. /boggle. Was that an attempt at an insult.

No, someone asked what version, and having both machines, I have honestly given the PS3 a chance and evaluated the 360 as the better all around console, this generation, so I am buying the game on the 360. Declaring that you will do one is always baiting to the rabid on the other side. I am rabid about neither and fail to see anything other than you acting silly.

I fully expect that Sony's PS4 will make up for the failings of the PS3. Hopefully starting with the controller.
