I have one question about this game... Should I play from the first one, so I can understand the story behind it?
Just want to know befor I try and buy any of them.

It's not a case of the story has no order, they are all different stories. They have different worlds, characters, rules, battle systems and mythology. Try not to think of them as Final Fantasy games, think of them as different games that are made under the same "brand".Valdric_gundam said:I see, so most of the story doesn't go in order... o.k. so, what number do you recomend for some one just starting the seiries?
And thank you, Peduncle, I will try and get that one... I think a freind of mine ownes a copy of it.
They are each their own separate story. They do not even take place in the same world (except the ones that are sequels or spinoffs of a particular one). You can play any of them in any order.Valdric_gundam said:I have one question about this game... Should I play from the first one, so I can understand the story behind it?

I recommend starting after 7. It wasn't all that great and it really hasn't aged well.Sassafrass said:Nope, as many have said before me, all are different games, only thing that's the same is the title.
And for my recommendations, can't go wrong with starting at X or VII.
I'm going to second this opinion.Jaranja said:I recommend starting after 7. It wasn't all that great and it really hasn't aged well.Sassafrass said:Nope, as many have said before me, all are different games, only thing that's the same is the title.

just to brag a bit, i got a perfect copy of ff7 with zero scratches and a perfect case =] found it at a local store for 25 bucks a year and a half ago..i nearly had a heart attack getting that thing off the shelf as i couldn't believe it was truly there.Sniper Team 4 said:I highly recommend that you stay AWAY from FFV. I tried to play it twice, and both times I got bored and never finished it. VII and VIII are my two favorites, so I suggest them. Of course, if you don't have PSN, you may have a hard time tracking those down. Hard disk copies of VII tend to cost a lot now.
