Could you please demonstrate to me a PC of similar cost to a PS4 (without linking me to that pcmasterrace reddit page, the parts of which aren't available in my country)?

Not having a go at you or anything, just looking at building my own PC and am eager to find any way possible of saving money doing so.

Thanks.
if you can tell me which country I can do some research for you and see what I can come up with.

I live in Melbourne, Australia. Prices for tech stuff here is absolutely ridiculous.

I read the article and clicked on the forum button, thinking "let's keep it classy, folks". That soon died and was replaced by "let's keep it empathetic, then". Then "okay, let's at least stay civil". Then sighing and banging my head against the table.

Console folks, I know full well how much it sucks to hear "you'll get a port in a year or two"; we get that all the time. All I ask is that you remember this the next time some big title gets exclusived to your platform of choice for no apparent reason other than bragging rights. There are times and places where it makes sense, but ultimately, the practice hurts everybody, and really should be discouraged.

A new PS4 from JB Hifi comes in at $549.

Using http://www.msy.com.au/ as they tend to be cheap, and using the Pascoe Vale store as it's the closest to me.

Wow. That's really helpful, actually, didn't know about this place, I'll take it into consideration. Thanks.

While I don't really think one way or the other, I do appreciate the reason. "We're best at compy stuff so we're gonna go with compy stuff" (I'm quoting verbatim there) and I think it's better that they stick to what they know.
