The fact that it seems to be coming from Europe might be the reason behind all the dark tone, and family-unfriendly-seemingness to the plot. If you've ever seen the short (uh...) "Runaway Brain", you've seen how dark a Mickey Mouse cartoon can be, but it's still very Disney.
Thanks for the reference to "Runaway Brain", just watched it and really enjoyed it. If they can bring back the somewhat satirical, ominous, dark-while-still-having-fun feel that they had through the early stuff (See Snow White for what I mean), then this could be good...

I do hope they keep the Steampunk feel in it - at least, for an area or a zone or something. Steampunk, Mickey Mouse, a Dark Disney...

This could be good. Count me hopeful - 6/10 on an expectancy scale, just because Disney has screwed up so many other good possibilities in the past few years...

Blimey, a serious Mickey? I wander if they can pull it off... Best of luck to them, though, it sounds fantastic! Now if only I had a Wii...

How much money do you think "Eurogamer" paid Disney to get the info and print this story?

I was instantly hooked on this game when I saw the first concept art leaked for the game, but that magazine cover was the nail in the coffin for me...

I....AM.....EXCITED

Damn. This is going to be great. I love Mickey Mouse. Now Mickey Mouse in a really dark setting?

Alright Disney, you better bring your frakkin' A game to this one.

I really hope this is a smash hit, I really do.

I'm looking forward to it.

And for the people complaining 'Aww... it's a Wii exclusive?' Buy a freakin' Wii already, will you? The price drop makes it an opportune time to buy, and it has a great many fun games on it.

Bah, to bad its on the Wii cause I've been in denial about it existing since I read about the name change from Revolution to Wii in a gaming magazine years ago.

Yet another game being released for a system that doesn't exist, oh well someday nintendo will release a console for all of these lovely games to be played on, when that day comes I'm sure it won't have such a crappy name as this "Wii" people keep talking about. /mega denial

I wonder if Sora will show up? Actually, does Disney own the rights to him at all? Hmm...

Is it just me, or does anyone else think "epic Mickey" sounds like a dirty euphemism?

Disney's going back to dark and edgy? The concept sounds pretty damn awesome, the art prelim shots look damn sweet, and a redefined Mickey? Anyone else want to see an alt/evolved/overpowered form where he has fangs?

I'll be on the watch for this. And hopefully for a cameo from Goofy.

...Europe? Junction Point's a texan developer.
And people wonder why I love my state.

Looks awesome. I'm starting to respect Disney again. This sounds too good to be true.

I'm not sure if I want it to have a sense of humor or not.

I would really like this to be done well, if they put "epic" in the title it better damn well be. A darker setting, a pretty interesting plot about forgotten characters, and a redesigned Micky that isn't 3 feet tall... it seems they're putting a good amount of effort into this.

I'm holding back on any excited enthusiasm until I see some gameplay videos. Hopefully it will surpass the Kingdom Hearts series in epicness (without a mandatory Winnie the Pooh minigame level)

Sora's too bright for this kinda thing. Besides, he's also a newbie to the worlds of Disney. I'd still like to see some connection to Kingdom Hearts though, just because I'm a big Disney/Square fan and love the backstory for KH.

I clicked on this thread, thinking it may be something to do about Mickey in a Kingdom Hearts spin off game. I was wrong. :(

But none the less, this doesn't look too bad.

It actually matches up quite well with one of the "missing stories" of KH actually; what happened to Mickey in the time between discovering world travel, and the end of KH1? What happened to him his entire time travelling in the Realm of Darkness?

However, unless Warren Spector is working closely with Tetsuya Nomura, it seems unlikely. A pity.
