Am I the only one who thinks this is going to be terrible? The art style looks fantastic (from what I've seen), but for the love of cake, IT'S A BLOODY DISNEY GAME! Disney tends to make games that are more about fan service than actually... you know... not being terrible.
Yes. Yes you are.

To raise a simple pedantic point, it's Disney property, but a Warren Spector game. The core game itself will be fine, it's Disney's postproduction corporate meddling that we have to be leery of. I don't think we have too much to fear from that angle, because the gameplay doesn't seem to touch on any of their bugaboos (violence, sex, gore, etc), and aesthetically, Disney has been expanding their merchandise offerings to appeal to more mature sensibilities, like their 'pencil sketch' character works on coffee mugs.

And at least we didn't get Toon: Disney, though that certainly could be fun as an MMORPG, especially with the two minute timeout mechanic.

This game looks incredibly cool. Unfortunately, I'm basing that off the concept art, and all concept art looks incredibly cool.

Still, there's actually a Wii game that kind of, sort of, almost interests me. That's a start.

This... actually looks really good. I know that it's mostly Disney trying to get our money, but I can't help it. It looks so cool. It might give me a reason to start playing my Wii again.

I wondered if they were going retro when I noticed Mickey was a bit longer-limbed then my generation's used to seeing him in the image before I read the article.

Want. Want so very badly. Now I have a reason to keep my Wii around other than for drunken nights of SSBB with my friends.

I've never grown up with Disney as much as most people, but damn this sounds fantastic. I want a Wii for this.

If this is all even close to accurate, consider me PSYCHED. I wonder if this explains the steampunk'd Disney stuff in the other images, some kind of dark-influence from this other world. Interesting angle, with shades of Grant Morrison.

Y'know, seven or eight years back there were rumors of a stalled movie project (never got out of planning phase, or so went the stories) involving a "crossover" of ever Disney animated property in existance involved in a search for a missing/kidnapped Mickey. It's been speculated that some of this eventually mutated into "Kingdom Hearts." You'd hear crazy stuff about this, like that the main "heroes" would've been 'vigilante' characters like The Great Mouse Detective or Darkwing Duck, etc. The weirdest rumor I ever heard was that the ultimate bad guy would've been revealed as Bugs Bunny. Most of it was probably nonsense, but this reminded me of that.

Interestingly, Oswald was actually created by Walt Disney (the guy) and early collaborator Ub Iwerks before there actually WAS a "Disney" company; when they were working for Universal who continued to own the character since 1929. Back in 2006 when ABC/Disney "traded" Al Michaels to ESPN/NBC/Universal, the specific asset that Disney asked for (and recieved) in return WAS ownership of Oswald. It was considered big news at the time among animation buffs, being seen as part of the "return to respect for history" in the new Jobs/Pixar dominated Disney, and people have been wondering for a long time what they were actually looking to DO with him. I guess now we know...

This and NoMoreHeroes 2 is why I still haven't pawned my Wii yet...

Please don't kill my expectations, Disney.

The Blot is BACK BITCHES! He's a real enemy, not some Big-Paternal-Figure clone.

You aren't the only one who thinks that. However, a revenge scheme? I really hope that's not the only piece of plot in this game. The retro face seems promising, though.
A normal revenge scheme is dull.

A revenge scheme from forgotten classic cartoon characters bitter and angry over having their (rightful, from their point of view) spotlight stolen? That's kind of creative, IMO.
Revenge schemes are real and current. They tend to be the driving force behind international wars, at least at the heart of quite a few that I've read up on or lived during.

Good stuff.

I look forward to the game.

I just changed my mind from selling my Wii. This is the only game that I think is worth buying that I've seen in a while. If they screw it up, my loyalty to Nintendo will be permanently shattered and my hatred of the Disney company will transform into hatred of Disney characters. If I am to be optimistic, I'd hope this is the first of at least a few games I'll buy for Wii.

The fact that it seems to be coming from Europe might be the reason behind all the dark tone, and family-unfriendly-seemingness to the plot.
...Europe? Junction Point's a texan developer.
Ooo... guess I got the fact that the info came from EuroGamer and the developer screwed up...
