First game I owned that I didn't have to type in myself from a few pages of BASIC code was Elite, on the Amiga. First game I ever played... ummm... probably Asteroids.
First console? Well, I've never actually owned a console. Ever. First one I ever played on though, was the ol' Atari 2600.
When I was really young my parents got me a Gameboy Colour, and Mario to go along with it.
shortly after that I was introduced to the wonders of Pokemon Blue.
I'm pretty sure it was a classic Playstation with one of the first three Crash Bandicoot games. Might have been an entirely different game but Crash is the first one I remember. Either that or PaRappa the Rapper.
First CONSOLE was the PS1, but I had been using my PC for a couple of years before that. First game? Civilization. Saw my mother playing it at 4 and had a go. Amazingly, I didn't suck too badly on the lower difficulties and actually understood what was going on.
Nintendo entertainment system was my first console and I think the first game I played on it was Dragon warrior. It was pretty awesome for the time and I recall talking with my friends in elementary school about it all the time, espeially about our adventures and accomplishments and close calls
My first handheld was an aqua Game Boy Color with Pokemon Red. I've got no doubt the most hours played in Pokemon Red in comparison to anything else I've owned. By a longshot.
My first console, however, was the PS2 with Shadow of the Colossus. Perhaps that's the reason why I usually don't expect much of a game before I start playing it. SotC was so epic that a vast majority of the games I got afterward just seemed bland.
