To be blunt, i dont care. Not my problem.

And frankly this statement doesn't hold a lot of water. Most friend gaming groups focus on only a couple of titles at most. I can't think of very many gaming friends I know that play more than 1 or two perpetual games. Which still leaves you with plenty of space for other titles to play on your own.

Plus if you want to go back and revisit a title, then reinstall it.

We are well past the days in which you can just swap cartiridges or discs and have your entire library at your disposal 100% of the time. This is the digital world now and as a result we have to deal with storage limitations.

Name me 10 games you play all at the same time that you have to justify constantly having installed and available.
Forza Horizon 4, Remnant, GR Breakpoint, NFS Heat, Snowrunner, State of decay 2, AC Odyssey, Diablo 3, No man's sky, risk of rain 2, division 2, Grounded, GTA V, Overwatch.

That's my "ready to play" list, which caters to the interests of my current solo play and the interests of my various gaming buddies.

It's almost like human beings are capable of having different tastes, and that you can play with different people separately.

Also you don't have to care. You expressed not understanding something, and were given a viewpoint to why it happens.

Even all those games together only total to roughly 465Gb of installed base, leave you with 200+GB (assuming the 680GB of space on PS5, or even more on the xbox) of space left to add even more games to the list.

So you argument still falls flat because even with all of that you still have another 7-10 games of space left beyond your current "Ready to Play" list.

With expandable storage also available, I don't know what else you need. How much space should the console provide you at launch? Out of the box it's giving you more than enough for all your current playables plus several new games.

Maybe instead of trying to belittle somebody you could at least have a reasonable point. You've got nothing to show here.

There is a difference between not understand someone's point, and not agreeing with it.

Yes, because I have a taste for smaller games. My full storage usage is 1.1tb. Those are my "play very often". And I avoid the "big" titles like Halo, Battlefield, Call of Duty, Warzone, Rainbow 6.

It's very easy to need lots of storage, you not getting it or not being bothered by it is great... for you.

You haven't answered the question. How much storage on a console by default do you want? And why are external/extra drives not enough for you?

That question wasnt originally posed. You said you don't understand why people need "so much storage", then listed reasons it doesn't bother you. I gave you anotber side of the issue.

Im pretty fine with 1tb base, and buying a 1tb external, as games stand now. Just hope the call of duty install nonsense doesnt become a standard.

Btw you don't have to use the Xbox/Seagate partnership branded SDD, it accepts standard externals as well.

See this I agree with. I don't know what the fuck CoD is thinking with those file sizes. It's like they are trying to impress us with how big their file size is as if their game wont be 5 hours long anyway.

I mean shit FF7 Remake and Red Dead 2 both required two blu rays and were massive fucking games, but they were still not even HALF the size this next CoD is bragging about. And both those games have more content than ten cod games put together.

That shit is dumb as hell.

Do you live in a frat house? That’s a lot of people on one console. How do any of you schedule that without killing each other?

No that's my frequently played list, on my system, created for the differing groups I play with in online mp.

Still, I envy how much time you seem to have for these various games. My list is much, much shorter. Offline too, except for RDR2 Online but that’s rare now that I’ve gotten all the trophies there.

???
Almost every title there lends itself to "I'll play this for 15mins to an hour if you got the time" style pickup/putdown gaming...

Yeah but the split between games is a lot. Jumping from title to title night to night just seems exhausting with that many games. It feels like a list of limbo games, games which you aren't really dedicated to, but you randomly play them until something else comes out that can hold your excitement.

You said you play with friends, but it still feels like a lot of non-interested hopping around.

Maybe you don't really care about the game and just play whatever people want to play, which is fine, but it certainly isn't the normal gaming habit.

The way you wrote that, it's almost like you don't want to be invested in a game for any length of time. That's just the way it sounds to me.

We have to be dedicated to our games now? I play what I enjoy, and what those I'm playing with enjoy.

Also it's not a statement about my enthusiasm, it's a statement about my demographic. We're old, we have jobs, kids, partners and commitments to deal with. If we can't pick it up and play it for a short window easily, it isn't really suited.

??? Love the guy!
ACG is terrible. His videos are 75% longer than they need to be. He keeps trying to look smart by padding his sentences with useless metaphors and similes that feel totally forced. I often forget what the fuck he was even talking about because he interrupts his own point to add a couple more of useless metaphors. Not to mention that he emphasizes words in a weird way. His punctuation is all over the place. I can't tell where one sentence ends and another begins. And his reviews simply suck. They're all surface level stuff, masquerading as something deeper. He even has the audacity to try to review the sound in the game, as if he's some kind of audio specialist. But it's only there to make it look like he's covering all the bases. He's completely and utterly useless as a reviewer.

There was another article saying that PS5's extra storage will be a feature at a later date and not instantly available at launch.

But actually it's only limited to SSD storage because they need to be very specific specced SSD's. The PS5 will have full HDD support at launch so you can have the extra space if you need it.

Frankly I never understood the need for all that storage because I don't keep games installed that I'm finished with. So I don't find this too big of a deal. And I think feel like Sony comes out on top with this one because so long as your drive meets requirements you can get any brand you want. Meanwhile Xbox wants you to only buy their shit and charges you extra dosh to do it.
Do they mean launch models don't have the M.2 slots or they're just not activated at the software level yet?

The article seems to imply that the slot just isnt activated. Maybe they are working out some kinks with 3rd party ssds and that just disabled it to be safe for the time being.

That is my best guess.

I like his rating buy, rent, wait for a deep deep sale. Though... I very, very , very seldom buy new at full price to begin with. Do you have a favorite online game reviewer? Or someone better. I personally don't have one go to person.

I find it funny that Playstation 5 sections on websites not only feature conversations and reviews of the console itself, but also the games. Spider-man, Astro-playground, Demon's Souls review will be up in a couple days.

Meanwhile the Xbox console is just bragging about the few seconds faster they load old games compared to the PS5. I haven't seen a single review for a Xbox Series X game exclusive yet.

You rattled off over two dozen games that I’m assuming are played in a fairly regular rotation, because you’re concerned about install space. If it’s surprising that someone else might not have time for more than a fraction of that, I guess I proved my point lol.

Also something that can’t be understated -

Adaptive triggers mean that the force required to pull the trigger can change depending on what’s happening on screen. In my early impressions of Astro’s Playroom, I talked about pressing down on a spring and feeling that increased pressure pushing back at me in the trigger. In Bugsnax, when taking photos of critters, the last 10% of the trigger turns into a “clickable” button, giving the illusion of taking a shot with a DSLR.

To further sell this illusion, Sony makes use of the DualSense’s internal speaker to mimic the sound of the spring or shutter going off, making me feel like these are things that are happening literally in my hands as I play.

The last part of this magic trick uses the new haptics. Think of it like the next generation of vibration technology. Rather than just being limited to the same rumbly feel for everything, there’s a lot more variety in what the PS5 controller can produce to mimic the events on screen. Captain Astro’s little feet tapping across a glass surface in Astro’s Playroom feel completely different from the robot standing near a massive explosion, for example.

These three features combine to give me more of a “next-gen” sense than 4K visuals or HDR ever have.
