The stit looks kind of wierd. I don't know it doesn't look like an actual costume, it looks like it's CGI'd on (and it is). Now granted it doesn't look by any means bad, just incomplete. I really liked the design of the aliens, Abin-Sur and Kilowog. If this is just as well-recieved as I hope it will, Thor might be getting a a run for his money.

The movie looks like it's going to be pretty good, but the 3D is kind of killing my enthusiasm. I mean, the fastest way to kill my enthusaism for a movie is heralding it in 3D. It's never been more than a crutch in my eyes, it never seems to be used properly (is it strange that JACKASS 3D used it more responsibly?) and it's a cheap way to ratchet up ticket prices. And if by some miracle you didn't get the 3D glasses, it makes the whole thing look like crap.

That was, to say the least, underwhelming. The fan-made trailer that casts Nathan Fillion as Hal Jordan (and plays 'Freedom Fighter's' from Star Trek's trailer) and uses a combination of James Masters and Hugo Weaving as Sinestro was far superior.

Ryan, tone your shit down, you're Hal Jordan not Deadpool.

I like it. It showed Hector Hammond, Sinestro, Kilowog, Carol Ferris, Tomar-Re, Oa, Abin-sur...has giant green fists coming out of rings (ok, that sounded bad)and military aircraft! From a comic book nerd point of view that´s pretty awesome.

Sure, it starts kind of goofy, but in a cool Tony Stark kind of way...AND at the end with Oa and the other lanterns, i see a lot of potential. It could be Iron Man ramping up to be something like DC´s Star Wars...a weird mix, but one i think is kinda cool.

The thing that makes me confident about the movie is Martin Campbell. You cant go wrong with the man respnsible for making Bond awesome again.
This does seem to be DC's answer to Iron man. I personally am a huge fan of the comics, and Hal Jordon is easily my favourite Lantern (The man with out fear, and with out fear you're just a man Batman) so odds are I'll go and see this. The CG looks a little dodgy but when he floated through that green lantern shaped rock it did look pretty awesome. And to include Kilowag is a nice touch.

Still needs some polishing but I'll give it a look

EDIT: the trailer looks a bit of a cliché at the beginning but I'm sorta hoping that was done to make people go "woah wait a second a purple alien?" Obviously to people who don't know the franchise.

Yeah I liked that too :) Oh and Sinestro in his green lantern outfit too :D

Green Lantern is probably the only DC character I have some sort of attachment too, being the first Superhero I ever had a comic about.

(Well it was released as a Superman Comic here in Norway, and consisted of two stories, one was Supes and Lantern travelign i nspace, the other was Lantern and the Lantern Corp)

Always liked his powers.

I am still not impressed. Every time there's an update about this movie I become more and more convinced that I won't see it.

CG looked awful. I mean, Ive seen better animation in a Shrek movie. For instance, in the Shrek movies they always pull off the world in such a way that I forget the entire world is CG. In this, you can tell what is real and what is not. And its not just because of CG's projected onto a real background; these CG's arent well implimented from the looks of the trailers.

Not to mention, the story and the movie arent being sold to me: something trailers are supposed to do. Maybe if I was a diehard fan, but for me this is a pass. If your going to make a super hero movie, make sure its upto par with the recent Batman and Ironman movies; charm, good cinematics, good actors, good story, etc. Nothing worse then making a mess with an expensive license.

Well, I'm certainly not gonna miss the film, but I'm fudged up the japs-eye if I'm paying £13 a ticket to see it in 3D at the local Odeon. DVD release it'll have to be.

Shame too...It doesn't look special but I'd have liked to see it on a big screen...ah, such is the curse of the industries incredulously high prices. Why can I buy a DVD for £3 a couple of months after it's released, but I have to spend 4x that just to see it once in a smelly, crowded room with flickery projection and £7 coke?

Sorry...that was off topic. Off to start a new topic!

Completely formulaic trailer, nothing surprising at all. But since I'll still probably see it, I'm SO not their target for a trailer.

I don't want an Iron Man clone I want a Green Lantern movie. A dude with a ring that can do anything in space with aliens and they're making an Iron Man clone. I hope to God I'm wrong but that's what it's looking like.

Maybe I'm expecting to much. Because of things like Mass Effect and Star Wars, when I hear of anything to do with space I expect to be engulfed in a sci-fi orgasm. I don't want to watch a safe, calculated, cloned success.

Wow, people are being harsh on this.

I actually like the look of this. As far as my exposure to Green Lantern goes, I've only read the "reboot" of Hal Jordan, after he
returns from the dead after the fight with Parallax, and has to fight some manhunters and some crazy evolution-enducing gremlins,
but from what the first issue of the reboot explained, this is looking pretty solid. The GL Corps look good, and they've got a decent enough villain... I guess. The big-head dude was in the comic I read, but his head was a LOT bigger there, and he came off as a huge whiner. The acting could have been better, but it could also have been a LOT worse.

It looks alright, though I'm still not liking the final shot of him putting on the suit in that office....still doesn't look right.

I know very little about the Green Lantern, but my dad ranks Green Lantern as his favourite dating back to his youth, so I wonder what he will make of this....

As an unrelated aside:

Brilliant. There needs to be a song with that title, at least. :p

I have such mixed feelings on this. While GL has never been a favorite of mine, I do know a lot about the Crops and the story. And I like Ryan Reynolds, I am not sure this film was really up his alley.

But with all that said, it did make me want to see it. I mean hell, I saw Dare Devil in theaters so I can at lest see this.

The Green Lantern Crops are an integral part of the DC universe! Without them, no one would get fed! :p

No but seriously speaking, I'm not blown away by the trailer but it does look good to me. I'm a big fan of GL and Superheroes in general, so I was gonna see the movie even with a trailer. I don't expect the Dark Knight, but I was hoping for Batman Begins/Ironman. Heck, I'll be happy if we end up with a Superman Returns. I do NOT want another Catwoman.
