This will be the first superhero movie that has the potential to enrage me. GL is my favorite hero so if this movie fails, heads will roll!

That was, to say the least, underwhelming. The fan-made trailer that casts Nathan Fillion as Hal Jordan (and plays 'Freedom Fighter's' from Star Trek's trailer) and uses a combination of James Masters and Hugo Weaving as Sinestro was far superior.
I saw that trailer too. It was awesome, even if after a while you start picking out where they got certain clips.

This looks... not bad but not great either.

Quite frankly, it looks unappealing to me. I really don't like Ryan Reynolds as an actor, I grew up on Justice League: Unlimited with the bad ass black Green Lantern, and.. I could have sworn his suit looks like Tony Stark made it for him.. *Hems*.

Time will tell.

They made Carrol Ferris a test pilot, because being a woman in charge of one of the biggest military funded corporations isn't a strong enough statement of her feminine character?

They made Pieface less stereotypical by painting him into the corner of "Hal's nerdy (but no longer Eskimo) friend"?

Sorry, Green Lantern movie. My excitement waned to worry when I saw the costume, and now I'm just disappointed. It's clear this was not taken even remotely seriously from the get-go, and now you're just another superhero movie notch in the studio system's belt. Your wasted potential will be forgotten by everyone that never really cared about you.

That....Looks.....Terrible.

What is it with DC and their comicbook franchises?

First they screw up Superman Returns (and it sounds as if they are going to do it again.. ZOD.. yawnn), now they make this pile of Poo..

Even their most successful to date, Batman is ok-ish.. it good because it's all dark and gritty, but Bale's Batman isn't particulary very good.. and the over done gritty voice is too much to listen to.

The reason why Reeve's Supes has been so enduring is because Donner's watch word was Verisimilitude (truth).. they played it straight and got characterisation right... This Hal is a jokey, unrecognisable mess.. and what is it with the cgi for the costume?.. it could so have looked better, it doesn't even look a part of him, it just looks painted on the screen.

I hate WB/DC sooooo much... it's run by a bunch of Monkeys.

I was watching this trailer again and I've figured out why its mediocre, it has no punch. It almost gets exciting towards the end but for the most part its just ok, nothing about it gets me all geared up to see the movie and nothing really grabs me about it.

a quote by Barney Stinson that sums up this trailer perfectly (I don't think I've got quote 100% correct)

"I'm looking for the vice president of awesome and you're the under secretary of only ok"

You people... what, we can't have any more cocky superheroes? Tony Stark is the only guy who can do that? Maybe I'd feel the same way if I'd read the comics, but I'm still optimistic. I'm less concerned about Reynolds nailing the exact character and more concerned about having a good time watching the movie. Also, I have every reason to be confident in the final quality of the CG.

I kinda like the CGI suit. I only thought it looked a bit weird when he did his stretchy arm thing at the end, it made his arms look scarily thin in relation to his body.

The trailer itself seems quite mundane.

Just a few points to add before I sign off.
1.If you think you won't like the movie, stfu and don't watch it.
2. M.J. White would make an excellent green lantern, but this isn't about the new one, it's about the old one. Its not about racism, get over it.
3. Ryan probably would make a better flash, due to his current image of having that flash type of attitude, but I'm sure he can pull off a more serious role while maintaining his quippy nature. Hell, maybe he's doing it to change that image. Jim Carrey did a great job of doing that in the Movie '23' in my opinion.
4.It's going to be a good movie for what it is, which is yet another directors conception of what green lantern should be. Face it, they'll never stick exactly to the story in comic/videogame movies (they have, but I can't name the few movies that actually did atm.) Once you get past that, you can watch the movie with the eyes of a nub that doesn't know anything about the story and enjoy it.
5.All we really can do is hope that it doesn't suck. I for one hope it doesn't, and further hope my hope isn't misplaced like when I hoped DB Evolution wouldn't suck.
6. If the trailer was that damned bad, I really hate to ask what YOUR OPINION of a good movie let alone trailer is. >.>

The trailer hasn't really blown me away. Especially as I am a big GL fan.

I prefered the fan made one with Nathan Fillion. Was much more epic than this.
Yeah, for some reason Coruscant with added Central Power Battery had more flair than what I've seen of Oa so far...

But as far as I know me I'm gonna see it on opening day anyway, regardless of trailer-quality. Go, Hal Jordan!

It looks like they are trying to encapsulate the fun of the Iron Man movies but have gone a bit too far. I mean, kids can watch Iron Man and have a grand old time but adults can clearly see that Tony's veneer of wise-cracking, over-privileged and charming toolbag is held together with string and he's 2 more drinks away from a nervous breakdown. But this trailer just makes Hal seem like a 2D douche. Ironic, since the movie is in 3D.

I actually want this to be good. I'm a massive comic book fan and it would be great to see DC catch up to marvel on the film front but this trailer hasn't got me convinced. Sure, Nolan's Batman was a massive hit and they're doing the right thing there but how could they every integrate that world with this lantern one? It just wouldn't happen, whereas all of Marvel's heroes can co-exist happily. Fingers crossed that GL is good though!

Did anyone notice at the end, when Jordan is flexing in his apartment, how his shoulders and chest look -ridiculously- skinny? This happened in Iron Man 2 as well. When Iron Man is a CGI creation, he is slim, trim, and rocking faces.

Cut to the Party scene, where they had to actually show RDJ in the suit. Now its clunky, and frankly, on the fat side.

Its gotten to the point where we becomes dependant on CGI for our effects, that it becomes obvious and disappointing when you see mistakes.

You know what, I'm not minding the costume as much anymore. Here's hoping for another Iron Man!

[sub][sub]The trailer wasn't the greatest but quite frankly my standards were set a bit low.[/sub][/sub]
this. honestly i was expecting a more grittier suit...but im starting to not mind it, plus my standards aren't set too high, so im good to go on watching this probably.
