Exactly, it looks like a fine adaptation of a classic character. If they get the pacing right, and don't shortchange the audience on the climax, I think the movie will be just fine.Thrashgrinder said:Looks pretty good to me...

It´ll be interesting how they adapt that story. Green Lantern is probably the only DC character I have some sort of attachment too, being the first Superhero I ever had a comic about.
(Well it was released as a Superman Comic here in Norway, and consisted of two stories, one was Supes and Lantern travelign i nspace, the other was Lantern and the Lantern Corp)
Always liked his powers.
Yeah, the CG could use some work here and there but it didnt really bug me. I like the way they´re stting up Sinestro as the mentor just like in the Secret Origin comics...lets hope we can see the Sinestro Corps, the Alpha Lanterns, other lanterns (like Kyle, Gardner and Stewart) and the war against the Red Lantern Corps, etc. in future movies!messy said:This does seem to be DC's answer to Iron man. I personally am a huge fan of the comics, and Hal Jordon is easily my favourite Lantern (The man with out fear, and with out fear you're just a man Batman) so odds are I'll go and see this. The CG looks a little dodgy but when he floated through that green lantern shaped rock it did look pretty awesome. And to include Kilowag is a nice touch.marcogodinho said:I like it. It showed Hector Hammond, Sinestro, Kilowog, Carol Ferris, Tomar-Re, Oa, Abin-sur...has giant green fists coming out of rings (ok, that sounded bad)and military aircraft! From a comic book nerd point of view that´s pretty awesome.
Sure, it starts kind of goofy, but in a cool Tony Stark kind of way...AND at the end with Oa and the other lanterns, i see a lot of potential. It could be Iron Man ramping up to be something like DC´s Star Wars...a weird mix, but one i think is kinda cool.
The thing that makes me confident about the movie is Martin Campbell. You cant go wrong with the man respnsible for making Bond awesome again.
Still needs some polishing but I'll give it a look
EDIT: the trailer looks a bit of a cliché at the beginning but I'm sorta hoping that was done to make people go "woah wait a second a purple alien?" Obviously to people who don't know the franchise.
I got that vibe too.For.I.Am.Mad said:I don't want an Iron Man clone I want a Green Lantern movie. A dude with a ring that can do anything in space with aliens and they're making an Iron Man clone. I hope to God I'm wrong but that's what it's looking like.
Yes sir you are indeed correct that the fand made thing looks far superior to this. And not just because of Nathan FillionVault Citizen said:Is it wrong that I think the fan made trailer is more epic than this?
Yeah I hear Parallax is the main villian this time around, could (although not following comics since an anti-matter universe may not do too well in the cinema) be a way to lead up to the Sinestro corps. If he notices the power of yellow or something. Also at 2.06 Hal Jordon smashes out of something big yellow. Which to me means that the yellow weakness is here.marcogodinho said:Yeah, the CG could use some work here and there but it didnt really bug me. I heard that Parallax will appear in the first movie. That would be pretty cool.

I´m not very familiar with the character, i must say...messy said:greatest green lantern of them all. Not most powerful. Green lanterns are all on par (bar ion but thats a whole 'nother thing) with how much raw power they can (note i said can) create its how you use it that makes you effective or not, he just knew how to use it well.marcogodinho said:It seems like the movie will adapt Green Lantern: Secret Origin storyline from Geoff Johns.
