when the fuck are you gonna use a throwing axe without landing yourself in prison,
On a target in the backyard? Dur?
but assault weapons e.g. guns, swords, and knives (excluding hunting knives, shotguns etc) kill people when used properly and have about as much taste as a dead baby joke when used ornimentally, if anyone can give me a reason to be so fascinated by killing equipment i'd love to hear it.
"You keep using that word, I do not think it means what you think it means."
If you're referencing my rifles, those are not assault weapons. If they're not select fire (read: capable of automatic fire), they are not assault weapons. I'm not trying to be hostile sounding, it's just a huge problem that the general public likes to refer to civilian versions of military weapons as assault weapons when they aren't. It only helps contribute to the problem with people painting them in their mind as "evil" guns.
Well made swords and knives and what not absolutely can be objects of decoration, sure they may be razor sharp, but regardless, it's still a work of art when they're created as such.
As far as firearms go, I wouldn't hang my guns on the wall because that's just about as damned rednecky as you can get, but I enjoy my firearms because it's fun to go to the range and pop targets with them. It's relaxing and it gets me the fuck out of my house. Plus, as a marine engineer, I really enjoy the mechanical aspects of them. One of the first things I like to do when I get a new firearm is get it home and completely tear it down.
"But what do you need multiple firearms for?"
Glad you asked, because each one has it's own distinct personality. My AK fires nothing like my AR-15. They behave wildly differently and when at the range, it's fun to put a few rounds through both of them since it's a totally different experience.
As far as my 10-22 goes, that's my el super cheapo plinker. .223 and 7.69 are crazy expensive these days, but .22 is still dirt cheap. You can go to the range and have a few hours of plinking fun, burning through about 500 rounds for maybe 40 bucks. Definitely a great little rifle to have on the side.
Just because a weapon is capable of killing doesn't mean that's why someone enjoys having them around and using them. I have firearms because I really enjoy target shooting at the range. I have my melee weapons (though they don't really count since they're blunted) because I enjoy my melee training. I bought my Benchmade Model 42 Butterfly Knife because I'm a fidgety son of a ***** and want to get into flipping.
Exception to the rule: My Kabar TDI knife. I bought that for whenever I have to go out of town. Where I live is really safe, but I like having that knife on my belt for personal protection, especially whenever I go down south.

Depends on what part of the world you're shopping from. I personally order online from Evike, Redwolf Airsoft, and Kapowwe, but then I live in the US.
Thanks, I'll check those places out. I live in Alaska so the sky is the limit as to what I can have mailed here.
