First off I wanted to say hi! I look around the forums a lot and decided to make an account only to realize I have been one for a while...
Now I'm sorry if this has been posted before but I couldnt find it after looking around
Website- http://www.theflatearthsociety.org/forum/index.php
Yes people believe this.
Somewhat related video- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oc0trwHSRIA
At first their ideas somewhat make sense but then your mind kicks in....I usually like to let other people have their beliefs but this I don't even know what to think. I don't know what else to add this is just crazy.
Oh and again, Hi!
There is an easy way to prove whether or not his theory is correct, based on the video.
1. Go to Argentina.
2. Get a boat/aircraft
3. Head for Antarctica
Why Argentina? According to the 'disc model' provided, Argentina would be closest to the edge of the world. That edge, having a barrier on it to stop water from pouring out, would be Antarctica if the Arctic is the center of the disc. The test is to see what happens if the plane/boat makes its way to Antarctica, aka the barrier of the world, and see if this barrier is penetrable, and if so, if there is a sheer drop on the other side.
In Science, theories are explanations of facts, and therefore can be twisted when facts are disproven. To disprove a theory fundamental facts have to be disproven to the point where the theory can no longer be twisted to maintain the theory.
So, at the ice barrier that is Antarctica, if the Flat Earth theory holds up, there should be either an impenetrable field or a sheer drop at the end of the world when you try to pass Antarctica.
If, however, instead you encounter Australia... its back to the drawing board.
