This thread has turned into yet another farce, another pointless thread on The Escapist that has gone off-topic, this time in the one section it really shouldn't.
If you're not going to post serious reviews you could at least review something well ala "Hey Joe's" review of a Brick. As it stands I'm yet to see another "funny" review as well written, interesting or amusing as that one. This is just a waste of time...and not in a good way.

Secondary, I honestly don't care about the tone of the piece, if he wants to write a light hearted piece that's fine - there've been a number of well-written light-hearted peices. But there's a line between acceptable and unacceptable quality-wise, and if you really think this sort of thing is within the realms of acceptable on any internet review forum then you should really re-think your standards.
As previously mentioned there have been a few well-written, funny critiques on objects, and these are fine. What isn't acceptable is a slap-dashed, two second piece with cliché jokes, poor writing and a lack of any kind of pretence that it's a review. I'd be fine with it if it was in the off-topic section (as most threads in that section are of this low quality) but when peoples hard work is being dragged down for a "joke" that doesn't have the decency to be intelligently funny, or even well written it's irritating to see. Especially when this was never the case a while back.
