The damage system was amazing. I remember plonking 4 explosive arrows into a Purlin's chest and blowing a massive hole clear through it. Or mines cutting enemies off at the knees.broadbandmink said:Hmm, I think it would be fun if someone made a montage video consisting of various acts of carnage from that particular game and accompanied it with a song by this band.idon said:You called?broadbandmink said:Aah, Cerebral Bore...
At least they're named from the game, so it's "relevant"?
This...sounds a lot like a dream I had when I overdosed on cold medicine.lee1287 said:im not sure what it's called, but it was a PS1, or maybe PS2? Game where you played as robot prisoners and had no legs, but were on a ball? And could race and fight each other, help me out?
not even just crash, what about Jak and Daxter? we got that pitiful excuse for a J&D game "Lost Frontier".....and the less said about it the better XP...... but since then.......nothin. the original 3 games though, definitely worth getting the collection. and 100% agreed about spyro, that game and series was amazing and continues to be so =) it's just a shame now that activision holds him we'll probably never see another good one X_Xfenrizz said:Crash Bandicoot - It certainly seems like Naugthy Dog has forgotten about this franchise. Damn shame too.
Spyro the Dragon
Was done better in Blood II: The Chosen, 3 months before Turok 2:broadbandmink said:Aah, Cerebral Bore...Starbird said:- Turok 2 (PC version). Hard as hell to find. Amazing graphics for the time, some of the coolest weapons ever conceived. Brilliant boss fights, incredible but different kind of shooter.

This was exactly what came to mind when I saw the thread title! There have been great third person action games since Oni but I've never played one that simulated exciting martial arts fights quite as well. The combat variety and the weight of every movement was incredible in that gameTheKasp said:Anyone mentioned Oni yet? One of the best hand to hand third person action games I ever played.
I know you're trying to be optimistic here, and some of those new space games look good, but it took you 3 weeks after my post to respond. That means there's not many people that care enough about space games to call me out. That brings a tear to my eye.Strelok said:So forgotten, it brings a tear to the eye:Signa said:Space sims: I know they were pretty popular at their time, but they've been pretty much forgotten today.
