Yea...sorry gamestop but my 150+ and growing library on steam just won't let me invest in another service when I have so much under one roof and all my friends can easily hop in and out of games with me. It is like some one trying to topple WoW, people are just so deeply invested that you pretty much have to give them so much just to pry their eyes away to look at your product for even a second.
Hell the only company that has actually given steam a run for its money is Direct 2 Drive, and even then I only buy from them because they price match and have generic 15-20% off any game all the time. And the keys provide usually activate on steam anyways.

I'm not sure why this guy keeps getting quoted. He's so... delusional it's amazing.
Doesn't that answer your own question? That's why we love him and Kaz.

You know who else had more resources for this sort of thing than Valve? Microsoft. Look how that turned out.

Oh yes good luck with that. Even though some of the hottest games that come out are released by VALVe, which requires steam, which gets people hooked. You see Valve are smart they hook people in with requiring this to install their critically acclaimed games and it is what hooks you onto the store. While these ones are just stores, no developers backing them so people can still get it on steam.. I mean really, who wants to split their library between two different DDS?

Can someone explain this to me if I have got it wrong. He says Impulse will be cheaper than Steam by using these special tokens but you can only get these tokens by already buying higher priced games. I am wrong or is this what he is saying.

Gamestop with its over priced crap and retarded used game sales beat STEAM? Lord of all Discounts? Not a chance.

Gamestop was ok but STEAM doesn't only have convenience on them they have a universal network for communities, thousands of games GAMESTOP refuses to look at. Sorry but no it won't.
My exact thoughts.

So this whole coupon thing makes sense how, Brad? Why would I buy overpriced games in your store to be able to get deals on PC downloads versus, I don't know, JUST GETTING THE DEALS ON THE PC DOWNLOADS!!!

Now, I'm not a heavy Steam user. I've only bought one game (Civ 5) on there completely digitally. However, I hardly go into GameStop anymore since I got a GameFly subscription, and for every game I find in store I can find it in a million different places cheaper online. If I don't even need GameStop anymore, why would I go there just to get PC game discounts I get on Steam anyway?!!

How could you possible beat steam in a sale war. I mean just recently they put up the potato sack pack and that is 13 really good indie games 75% off that's great. Plus every other deal they put out there being between 50-75% with new ones every weekend and some on weekdays just for giggles. So ya there is no way Impulse can beat steam.

The ONLY way this could happen is if Gabe Newell OD'd on fried chicken.

It's not really interesting when we're just talking about a single guy's very biased opinion. Both the content and the comments generated are so obvious outcomes to me.

You have to wonder who is the guy trying to convince with this. Maybe himself? It probably was quite hard to say that with a straight face.

And the zune killed the iPod as predicted

Also, I am just going to assume he has a heavily vested interest in what he's saying, yeah?

Never heard of impulse until here. Thoughts that went through my mind:

1. Hahahahahahahahaha.

2. A gamestop powered Digital distribution program? Sounds SO trustworthy. I can see my email being flooded with spam and digital versions of the crap that is game informer.

3. How can they use gamestop's rip-off pawn shop behavior on digital copies? I'm sure they'd find a way.

4. Price? Are you serious? Any Gamer worth his system will tell you Gamestop is horribly overpriced. Steam is actually one of the cheapest ways to get games, outside of piracy.

5. In order to get the discount on the Impulse system, I have to buy a game from gamestop. If I'm at gamestop why wouldn't I just get the game there?

6. Most people who go to gamestop (at least in my area) are 15 and under kids, thier parents, Monogamers (COD fanboys, or other people who only play 1 series), or people looking for really old games on current systems. Few of these people PC game or even use digital distribution for full games (perhaps only the last one).

I doubt it. With how much they messed up where games install with Windows 7, I'm tempted to rebuy all the games I can on Steam.
