While I'm surprised there aren't more, I don?t get this sentiment of ?it looks cool but I?m not going to watch it because it?s on G4.?
While I agree that these shows will do little to bring back some of the more edifying aspects of TechTV (what G4 used to be) boycotting the show wont really do anything unless you?re a Nielsen family or something.
I know one Neilsen family who will probably be tuning in to this so you may as well check it out.
lol sounds interesting at the least. I reckon Wolverine will have the most potential. Bring on some ultra-violence damnit! Japanese anime can be pretty ultraviolent on it's own, but putting Wolvie into the mix would make even Japan go "Woah, easy there tiger"
Main hope is that Steven Blum reprises his role as Wolverine, since he's got the perfect voice
man everyone is going anime now... even Supernatural [http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2010-06-09/supernatural-the-animation-project-launched-in-japan]
I like how pretty much all of em are set in Japan. Still, I'm excited for them all. As long as they nail the voice acting and everything, this should be a fun ride!
Then show us they less tall and thin Wolverine before his vogueing dance of death burns it's way into my memory.
P.S.
I do not see the words "prototype anywhere in this article [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/93436-First-Look-at-Marvel-Anime]and if it is then it looks like a pretty advance one so the character design probably won't deviate too drastically.
Okay remember the Ironman trailer where Tony Stark fights an army of black robots and against captain Harlock.
Now look at the trailer there COMPLETELY FUCKING DIFFERENT AINT IT!
So wait until the next wolverine trailer arrives and then piss and moan. They also didn't say the original Ironman was a Prototype but it's clearly not the Ironman from here.
still I'm too busy watching Stan Lee's Heroman
Still Marvel has always hit me as the kind of company who doesn't actually GET what makes Anime popular, considering the entirely american produced Mangaverse looks like this
Don't stop with Laser Claw Wolverine, Evangelion inspired Spiderman or boobyfull captain america Marvel, insult my intelligence and taste further. And I repeat this was a wholely american product, no japanese anywhere. It looks like something someone would make if they vaguely heard of Manga!
oh and by the way Wolverine isn't there, see Wolverine has one metal claw and one LASER claw, why? fucked if I know.

Just because they're based in Asia doesnt mean the have to be anime, or vice-verse. Why are 3of them based in Japan? and the last based in South East Asia?

I can totally see comedians getting off on Cops (I used to work with them... comedians not cops) but most people I know find it more depressing than funny. Functional hicks probably get a kick out of it too.
I find it funny that G4, after having crap for programming, gets something that might actually be good, and people refuse to watch it because its on G4. How can they ever justify dropping the Cops crap if people refuse to watch when they change their programming back to their original demographic?
What, other countries don't do the same thing? Could you even imagine Americans working with a Japanese franchise without bringing it to America.
In other news, I'll probably end up watching all of them except for the X-Men. Still, I really wish Marvel would get it's ass in gear and get Spider-Man back.
