Gotta love Fox. Let's claim three of the most prolific voice actors of our era are demanding too much salary. That means one of two things is going on. One, the VAs are actually demanding too much money and being greedy SOBs while all 3 are working on lesser known projects with budgets far below what was ever spent on Futurama. Or two, Fox refuses to spend money on Futurama and return thier original salaries.

Considering the show was cancelled because how much it took to make, and not ratings issues. Which do YOU think it is? Worst. company. ever.

What a bunch of stupid stupid idiots. If I can't have the voice of Zoidberg while watching Zoidberg cry, it's not as funny as HEARING Zoidberg cry and moan.

Also, bite my glorious golden ass.

they could just cut FOX News funding to meet the salary demands, Futurama will make more money than FOX News im sure
Agreed.
As Fox is the network responsible for Fox news, my natural response is to side with the actors.
that has to be one of the greatest ideas yet!
I have a better one.

Cancel Fox News.

Oh crap, I hope they manage to work something out with the original cast. Though I have to wonder who's at fault here. Are the stars being uptight, self-loving dicks about their paychecks, or is FOX being a bunch of greedy, penny-pinching assholes?
I doubt that they were asking for small fortunes, I bet the FOX exectives have more money than any of them combined.
Everything I've seen has shown that the whole blaming the cast is a lie. They cut the budget for the show dramatically.

Though this is the same thing that happened with the simpsons and they didn't get new voice actors either.

Yeah they slashed the budget and told the VAs to suckit or fuckit (so to speak) and they chose fuckit so far.

I'm sure someone has mentioned this but I'm coming late since I wasn't as interested when I last saw the title of the post (thought it said REBROADCAST - good news, but not very spicy).

Fry, Professor, Zoidburg, Zap Brannigan - all voiced by the great and inimitable Billy West. He also was the voice of Ren and Stimpy (replacing creator John K as Ren for the Bob K. run of the show), and currently is the famous voice of the red M&M and is the go-to guy for top-budget Bugs Bunny cartoons. From what I gather, he is also the only person NOT bitching about the move to recast the show. I'd imagine he's pretty sick of doing all those same schtickish roles, look up youtube for Billy West does Fry/Zoidberg/Zap Brannigan and you'll see a bored, disappointed man delivering the same canned character lines over and over and over again at fans' requests.

That said, this totally SUCKS - the combination of Matt Groening's visuals Billy West's voice and great writing were exactly what made that show stick. And come on, no Phil LaMarr? No Maurice LaMarche?? NO JOHN DIMAGGIO? You can't replace Bender! Piss on it, I'll have no reason to watch new episodes.

DiMaggio and the rest of the crew asked for piles of money to come back, and FOX didnt hesitate:

'bring in some young ones'!

I see my kid neighbour playing Bender for some change and a popsicle.

They'd have plenty of money for voice actors if they didn't blow it all on dozens of floptastic shows that only lastest 3 episodes.

Even if it is a money issue with the original cast, maybe FOX wouldn't have such a big problem paying for it if it would stop throwing all its money at Seth McFarlane.

How much you want to bet the cast is this?
A fat idiot
A loser girl
A smart baby who can talk
A hot wife who puts up with her husbands antics
A stupid boy
A talking animal (intelligence variable)

I'll make a verdict when I hear the new voice actors. I am certainly not pleased about it though - I would enjoy it more if I knew that it had the same people behind it.

They cant replace Billy West, Maurice LaMarche, and Phil Lamarr. These are three ridiculously talented voice actors who do most of the VO work not done by celebrities for a reason. I think that Fox wants to give the middle finger to its fans for not allowing Family Guy to die after the cancelled it for the 2nd time.

Fox executives have killed other popular shows by bouncing them around the schedule and not promoting them until they just go away. They tried to do that with King of the Hill (when was the last time you saw a commercial regarding their next episode?) and did it successfully with The Critic. BTW, its worth remembering that when they started making Futurama, executives wanted Groenig to make a new 'Simpsons' instead of what they got.

But Johnny Carson described television as the only media that eats its own young.

It'll probably bomb.

The first few seasons were great, but it slowly turned into shit as they try to add more emotions to it.

Than they made the movies - Like the series, each movie got worse as it tried to pack itself full of forced laughs.
Quoted for Truth. The thing with the Feministas was just terrible.
