"Oh no, the game will be buggy at launch." Fine with me :D
At least i will have it to play. If i come off as rude sorry, but theres no point in complaining about it. They are actually doing the right thing here. Its just like with Skyrim. If half a million people play it, and report the bugs, it will be patched far faster then if only half a dozen quality testers have a go at it.

If you dont want to play it while its buggy, just dont get it. Or get it, and dont install it. Even if the game comes out, your under no obligation to deal with the bugs, because no one is forcing you to sit there and play it.

Im glad he can come out and tell us, "Im sorry, were having issues". Yes, i will be getting this at launch. I will be playing it with bugs. If they are to bad for me to play it, then i will report the bugs, and wait for it to get patched. But the important part is, its still there. If i buy it and its buggy, its not going anywhere. Or i could wait till it gets patched, and enjoy it fresh and clean.

In the end, its your decision. If the game comes out and everyone says its buggy, dont get it till its fixed. If you get it and you KNOW its going to be buggy, then dont complain. You were warned, and complaining about the gaming being broken doesnt help. Report the bugs, and go play Dragon's Dogma while they work to get it all patched up :)

I dont find it distressing.

Think about it. All they are saying is that they arent going to fix anything that wasnt fixed before. So its basically going to be the same as if it were on a console. Just by virtue of the hardware being greater its going to do a lot to reduce the stress so invariably there is no possible way it is not going to improve to some minor degree.

I agree they should have outsourced this task to someone with more experience, but the end product WILL be good enough to be playable and the DLC will net them some easy money so that they can learn as they go. So possibly next installment they will be able to handle doing a proper PC release. Its kinda shitty but simple fact is, its the gamers who are wanting the company to in essence transition into a new field for them. So if the gamers want it, they can get it, but they are going to have to pay for it to support it if they are serious. However, the pay off is going to be phenomenal if they can make it.

Seriously want 1080 support and higher res textures, But for now I can settle for 10 more hours of content.

Yes they're inexperienced but at least they're trying. While we're on the topic of bugs and glitches, how's Skyrim and Fallout: New Vegas treating you?
This...is an insanely good point.

At least FROM has the balls to admit that the PC version will have a lot of the same bugs that the console versions have, and will even have bugs to begin with.

Far better than Bethesda in the public-relations department, in my opinion.

Oh this is so rich.

People wanted a port, and now they are all whining over it, because it will have performance issues...

What the hell did you people expect? It is a PORT! Ports are by default, bad (with only a few exceptions).

This truly made my day. Get a console instead of crying over this.

PC Gamers: "We're tired of getting the shitty ports. But let's ***** at developers to get them anyway."
Developers: "Okay, here comes game that you all wanted. Due to us being a mainly console creator we have little experience in porting for PC. There may be some bugs."
PC Gamers: "Fuck you, you suck. We're tired of getting the shitty version."

Did you guys want the game or not? When consoles get a port of a PC game we always get the dumbed down shitty version too. STFU please.
Except 90% of the posts have been positive/supportive. But I guess if you need to be on your high horse, go ahead.

I'm getting it day one. Like most people said, mods are a thing.

I'm glad they admitted that they were struggling. I'm still going to get it anyways, a few bugs and a bit of lag never stopped me from enjoying a good game. A lying and greedy developer does.

That's a shame as I was hoping to get the PC version so I didn't have to deal with the FPS drops anymore in the 360/PS3 versions. But oh well, people who exclusively game on PC should still rejoice in having the opportunity to experience this game. And actually the FPS drops in Dark Souls really aren't that bad and are only experienced in specific areas like Blight town.

Plus lets not be too pessimistic now. Many of the people who signed the petition will want the game no matter what. Not everyone is crazy enough to deny themselves of a fantastic game just because it has the same issues as the console version. A direct port that has the same technical issues but has extra content included for free? Surely this game will be rated as high if not higher than the console versions. Unless the minimal keyboard support is viewed as a real issue.

That's not a good decision on their part. PC gamers can be VERY picky about performance (I should know, that's how I am) and are not going to be happy with a poorly-ported game that has issues, whatever the game's pedigree.
I hate to say it but I think there would have been a vocal group of PC players complaining about the port whatever happened because I see the terrible port argument used against every game even those that were designed for the PC first.

Also it can't be that big of an issue because it is the same problems that are there in the console version and it is still a game that is highly praised.

"In terms of the PC version, the quick answer is no, [we won't be fixing the frame rate problems]," he said. "Because we wanted to get the PC version out as soon as possible, it's more strictly a port from the console version. We haven't been able to step up into doing any specific optimization for PC."
So instead of you know, doing there damn jobs and fixing these bugs, there going to ship a game they know is buggy because they need to get it out in a release schedule which is obviously too short. Call me dumb if you want, but i wont be getting this.

Hmm... well this is disappointing, that it probably won't be a proper port, optimization wise... I'm still gonna buy it though... and I'm sure my PC is more than enough to alleviate the slow down...<.<

I'm getting it.
Even if it performs poorly now, it's a freakin' PC game. I'll play it again in a few year's time when I have a rig with 96 GB RAM and I can RAMdisk literally everything.

Heck, this method even worked for Saints Row 2, which is one of the very worst PC ports of all time.

Sorry FromSoft. I won't support a rushed, shitty, poorly optimized PC port. The fans wanted the PC port to fix all the problems Dark Souls had on consoles but that looks like it won't be happening. You guys should've delayed it when you had the chance. It looks like I'll be buying the DLC on the PS3.

^This. I'd rather have a shorter game than one that's got shit optimization. Even for them, it's an issue, it means gamers need better PCs than they really do to play the game.
