I named my Nord in Skyrim Alkea. 'Cause... y'know. Nord. Nordic. Sweden. Ikea. Alan key. Alan-Ikea. Shut up, it's smart and witty and not stupid at all.

My Skyrim Character is called "Sissy McSmellyPants", He uses full Daedric armor and he's a Two Handed Master. People never take me seriously :(

My Oblivion Character was named "Fuckface", Class "Dickbowl". Everytime I load up my save and open my inventory, I laugh like a ************ :D.

My Dragon Age Character was named "Grey Warden". So my full title was "Grey Warden Grey Warden, Commander of the Grey Wardens".

The princess in Chrono Trigger was named "Whore". The result in many many conversations were hillarious. See here:

I think that's about it, for now.

Only one game I always do this in. Final Fantasy IX. I ALWAYS call Armarent "The Dude". Always. Cause he is The Dude of the game.

i always name NPCs after my first impression of them.

"What's my grandson's name? oh wait, that's right: Douchebag."

The full name for my paladin in Tibia is Cheddar Cheesebeard, but he goes by "Cheesy" in-game. This leads to endless opportunities for tired jokes about jokes being 'cheesy'.

Well, I don't usually give my characters funny names, but whenever I play Left 4 Dead or other such games, I use the name "a meatbag". I like to think that "You were killed by a meatbag" adds a bit of insult to injury.

Totally took a page from Super Effective (VGCat's seldom updated Pokemon comic) and named my rival in HeartGold Douche.

Unfortunately (fortunately?) because of the great music, it didn't make his encounters any less epic.

EDIT: Holy ninja'd, even the comic it came from is in here o_O

I can never change the name to anything other than the original character's name or my own :(.
If I did though, I would use "Dickless". Especially if it was a girl character XD.

Stick to the "proper" character names.

In LoZ:OoT, I did call Link "Fagballs" once though. That was good :p

My ME character is Commander Awesome A. Shepard.

In case you were wondering, his middle name is Awesome. I totally wish they used first names in the game :(

In some games, as we all know, there exists the ability to give your character their own name, created by you. These are, as we also know, absolutely hilarious to abuse. So what's the funniest/most offensive name you have thought up for a character? Because I'm a huge ZP fan, I named two of the dwarves I created Terry and Gonad (bonus points if you can tell me which review that is) Have at it everyone!
Alone in the Dark :D

i to took a page from ZP.

in City of Heroes, i made a 8ft troll in a business suit, named her 'Professional Troll'

cookie if you can guess what review that ones from :D

EDIT:
can't believe i for got about my Thunder Katts :p to which i have 2
one in CoH, elce melee/elce armor
the other in DCUO, Brawling/Lighting
and both are cat girls.

Charlie has been saving Zelda since 1992, who is this Link you speak of.

In Final Fantasy 7 Barrett was called Mr Tea, Vincent was called Tarantino and Cid was called Vimes.

Pro team.

I called Aerith and Tifa, 'Bethany and Zoe' respectively I think those names suit them better. *shrug*

Oh and My Vegas Courier is called 'Six' but I think a lot of people did that :p

I can't really remember any of them but a 9 year-old with a Pokemon silver can't end well. Haven't abused this lately thou, I can't decide which of the silly ones to use anymore so I don't name anything unless I must and then it's some pretty basic, boring stuff.

I always give my characters normal names, because I'm boring... but I can literally sit there for hours trying to work them out. How Bethesda manage to make around 1000 names each time I'll never know...
Probably with this http://www.wizards.com/dnd/article5.asp?x=dnd/dx20010202b,0

I'm not really one for mixing things up with names though. I like character names to be actual names rather than something silly (random objects or conditions) just to fuck with the dialogue writer.

I have seen some rather hilarious examples online though, but i doubt i'd ever do that myself.

Humans are "Sir Hieronymus Contumelorius Quintillius XIV of Agrippa" which finds it's origin in several names from Oblivion and an actual Roman name. Not that the others aren't Roman names, I just don't know about them. Anyways, this name is designed to be a mouthful. Cat-people or Khajiit (I'm an Elder Scrolls person) are called Tybalt or Mister Fluffington (depending on seriousness). I don't usually make female characters.

All of my character's names must be lore-accurate and not funny in the slightest.
