Is Monaco a nation? It makes me laugh how tiny they are.

What? We all know that the funniest of all countries is molassia. their military consists entirely of a few guys with 2 inflatable rafts, and firearms from 1857. Thats just hilarious.
Is this true? These almost seems to absurd to be true.

Two words that completely dismiss the idea of USA being the funniest nation:

Chris Rock.

To be honest, I find a lot of your stand-up comedians borderline painful to watch. Sorry. :p

However you have also blessed the world with Demetri Martin [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vaGa3kjRS7o] so all is forgiven.

Are they kidding?! Germany is sooooo the funniest nation!
I completely agree. The more serious they try to be the funnier they get.

England's pretty funny too.

EDIT: I totally forgot about DENMARK. Denmark is totally the funniest country of all time. No matter what they say it's instantly hilarious.

How can a body of land be funny?
Italy is shaped like a boot, that's pretty droll. And Florida totally looks like a penis.

I'm gonna go with The Netherlands, just because I think Dutch people sound funny.

I know why America is the funniest country.

I was going to a friend's apartment one day (I live in Richmond VA) and I saw an extremely hairy guy riding a bicycle down a main street.

He was wearing a red, low-cut dress and matching high-heel shoes.

Huh, I think America is very funny, but not the "funniest". I would say that goes to Ireland or England.

True, America is "funny". But I still think America doesn't grasp "comedy". In that the drama and the pity of life.
Really? Go watch the dinner party episode of the American office or any Richard Pryor stand up and tell me American comedy doesn't understand black comedy. I think people just have a problem admitting when America is the best at something

Also in case you say the office is British the original show was in fact British but the American counterpart stopped recreating the British episodes half way through the first season. It has greatly surpassed the original show
Was almost with you till you wen't and claimed the American Office is even on a frikkin par with the British one. And then you went that one step further and completely lost me. Unless this was some seriously esoteric dark humor, in which case you just won.
I second this. I honestly found the UK Office "mildy amusing at times", but the US Office...Wow... It's an abomination and should not exist. Imagine if we did a British version of Friends or something. It's exactly like that.

Americans are the best at making people laugh, it says in the article. Americans elect people like Sarah Palin to higher office. That makes me giggle like all hell...
I'm not entirely sure I'd call being the Governor of Alaska a "high office" to be honest.

I would think the least funniest nation in the world would be Somalia. Go figure.

... go for it. I'm sure it would be better than the original Friends.

I like the American version of The Office pretty well. Never seen the British version, so I can't really comment. But Friends is shit.

As an American I'm gonna have to go with Canada. The sheer number of comedians that are from the great white north is astounding. The first thirty years of SNL is predominantly Canuck.

I can second this. If you speak English and/or German and then listen to Dutch people talk it almost sounds like a parody of both languages. Kind of like the Swedish chef from the Muppet Show being a parody of Swedish. Except meanwhile this is a real language.

Yeah I can see America being the funniest nation. Seriously, you could have a whole TV show about Americans doing stupid things and it would probably run for 20+ years...

America has New York. New York is the world's comedy capital.
Certain parts of America aren't very funny though.
Montreal is the worlds comedy capital. New York is nothing compared to it. The Just For Laughs Comedy Festival, come on.

Canada is totally the funniest nation. Hands down.

England, 7th funniest, 4th unfunniest! i find that hard to believe, who descided this? was it america? or did we have some really unfunny person like david cameron (what a knob) standing for us.

come on, england is full of stand up comedy, and every single british film has comedy in it. and britain has create some of the funniest sit-com's and televission programs. 7th is not right.
