There is a finite size to demand. As a result, the effect of supplying a lot more games will generally be to crowd out other games*. This will make more games financially unviable, the developers bankrupt and coders needing new jobs until the supply shrinks back down to meet demand.
* It is possible to break into a new market, or convince existing gamers to devote more time/resources and thus expand demand... but I wouldn't rely on that.
