They will literally believe anything if it's something bad about the people they hate.
I wouldn't be sad to see DeSantis and Trump running in 2024...against each other and taking half the GOP with them. I'm getting the impression there's plenty of Republicans who want to be President and are probably getting really irritated by Trump continually trying to be President again. I also don't think Trump would as someone's else's VP because of Narcissism, so it feels like the possibility of Trump trying to run as in independent if he doesn't get the nomination isn't that far fetched and DeSantis not just lying down and letting Trump have the Nomination considering all the Embarrassment he's put the party through in the last few years....also the fact DeSantis really wants to be President, the vibe I'm getting.

Trump is a Millstone around the GOP's neck and I think a lot of them have finally realized it(or they already knew and are finally confident to speak up about it again), but he's also a double edged sword in the fact he's apparently really popular among certain parts of the GOP who would probably follow him anywhere, even on an indepedent run.

Being VP means someone else has more power and authority than you. Trump would never put himself in a position where someone would publicly have more power than him.

Trump is also delusional enough to believe that he is well loved enough to run and win as an independent candidate.

Wait... we've been eating snake eggs this whole time?

Man, I thought the Easter eggs just came from the brown chickens
The Easter Snake brings joyful gifts to good children and a potentially fatal dose of haemotoxin to kids who are bad.

The Easter Snake is harsh but fair.

Unfortunately I have a court injunction preventing me from educating anyone under the age of 12 about the Easter Snake...

Eh, despite all the the fighting they all tend to really in lockstep around their candidate.

OTOH, the possibility of Trump not being the GOP choice and then forming his own party or running as an independant and splitting the far-right vote for the rest of his life...
