Funny thing is..........well........... the character is the mother of monsters.............so yeh it's very Anti-Woke to really celebrate the character because if you stop and reason out the change and look at if from a cultural perspective it becomes very unwoke.

So in the original Myths Angrboda is the 2nd wife of Loki and gives birth to Fenrir the wolf whom when he breaks free Valhalla will fall and Ragnarok start. So in context of the game Atreus who is Loki will help cause the destruction of Valhalla in part because he ends up in a Mixed race relationship now.........Just holy crap did no-one think this move through? Also Holy crap does it show the issue with judging a character as been progressive or regressive based purely on their skin colour and not spending a few minutes or so to think through beyond that
A person's mind will have to be severely rotted for them to reach that conclusion though.

These idiots seem to forget that the God of War series had several black actors doing voice work. Kratos has two different voice actors; both are black. Atlas, a character that appears in one of the God of War prequels is voiced by Michael Duncan . I find it funny that they forget about this, or better yet or a bunch of dumb assholes who didn't know in the first place. Yet didn't care until somebody looks dark skin. They all seem to forget that even though Kratos is Greek, he has dark skin before he has those ashes put upon his skin. These are some huge dumbasses.
I didn't even think of that angle(I was aware at least one of Kratos's VA were Black men) but excellant point. I was coming at it from the omni-present "It doesn't respect history/mythology" argument ala Houseman.

Which begs the question what series these idiots have been playing up till now.......

Ironically enough, the God of War series respected Greek myths more than almost any game, movie, or TV show by comparison. They still played fast and loose with certain things, or added certain elements under rule of cool. Yet, Santa Monica got more right than Hollywood ever did.

We live in an age where people think rape happens due to anime butt poses certain groups can't figure out why pirate sites have porn ads and thinks it's all due to sexism and think the reason more women aren't architects is because Lego made a range specifically trying to target women. I've seen enough to understand the paths the brain rot will take and the conclusions that will be reached, eventually. Though it'll probably be a couple of months and one of the brain rotted themselves saying it before it will catch on and spread round lol.

Greek Era - Terrance C. Carson (Living Single).

Norse Era - Christopher Judge (Stargate SG-1 & Atlantis).

I honestly didn't realize it was two different VA between the Greek and Norse games. Which means Chris Judge did a damn fine job of sounding like Terrance Carson in the Kratos Role.

Also, I haven't played the original trilogy in....well, close a decade at this point, so if I had back to back voice samplings I might or might not notice they were two different VA. But then again, Norse Kratos is older and more done with all of this so any variation can be put down to that in universe.

Ah yes clearly I shouldn't give examples of the kind of brain rot that already exists and will lead people to realise that the changes in God of War would have very problematic implications.

Whether he's a true believer or a grifter, he's a piece of shit regardless.
I am a conservative, as well as an avid Magic: the Gathering player, who was aware of the Quartering on pretty much day one of his nonsense. He falls somewhere in the grifter-troll spectrum, and I'd happily delete him from the internet if I could.

Well well well. What a surprise.

This surely cannot be legal. Are citizens supposed to just be helpless bystanders to this shit every time?

So, one of our American general's contacted their Chinese counterpart back of January 6th to say, "hey, if my boss does something batshit insane like orders us to launch nukes at you, I'm gonna give you a heads up" and the right wing just found out about it.

They're going batshit insane at the news that one of our generals would try and stop an unprovoked nuclear attack

Like it or Not that's likely a huge breach of chain of command there and yes probably would count as a form of treason. You can refuse an order you see as unlawful but you don't get to subvert the chain of command no matter how crazy you think your leader is. Well unless you're doing a military coup

Yea, that's where he got his first taste of infamy. It's a whole rabbit hole I don't suggest diving in.

And Archwarhammer can eat shit too. I've seen his GMing style. The fact he has Sargon of Applebees in his gaming group doesn't give him any cred either.

I feel like I've seen an episode of 24 about this

The problem being that a lot of generals were discussing what turned out to be Jan 6 well before the day and trying to circumvent Trump's authority.

This was newsworthy before Jan 6. So when Trump says that the defense force was working against him, he's not wrong

Hot take, I don't think telling a non-hostile entity that, "regardless of what our leader says, we aren't going to end the world as we know it tomorrow" is treason.

Like, sure, telling people you *aren't* gonna help with a coup might technically be "circumventing his authority", but...kinda also not doing that? As the US president doesn't have the authority to do that?

Pretty sure launching nukes he does and some military operations.

Declaring official war can be done thought that can be held in check by congress but as far as I'm aware what the general was talking to China over was something within the presidents power. If you want to argue it's not within his power then the General is in even more trouble in that case for acting knowing said things were outside of the presidents power.

I'm sorry, what the fuck year is it?

What the entire fuck has happened where we're casually discussing the ability to launch a first strike nuclear attack on a non-hostile entity and saying that a military general reassuring their non-hostile counterpart that that's not going to happen is treason?
