Yeah, not a fan of Black Panther either. It wasn't bad by the standards of modern superhero movies,I guess, but the bar has been set pretty low.
I'll defend both Black Panther movies. The first Black Panther is a solid B+, and Wakanda Forever gets an A+ for me. I don't give a damn what anybody else says. Especially a racist and sexist nobody billionaire with nothing better do in his life, but be a miserable asshole and trying to drag everyone down to his pathetic level.

Not seen the second one, pretty over modern superheroes as a rule.
That's fine; everyone has their limits. I still enjoy superheroes, because there's a huge variety of them exploring different genres and themes, but I am taking a big break from the MCU until Disney and Marvel get their fucking act together. Unfortunately, it's going to be a long break. WB and DC can fuck off, aside from The Batman continuity. I am waiting on Spider-Verse 3, and Deadpool 3 is the only other superhero movie that has my attention. I am currently on X-Men '97 and Invincible Season 2.

Oh, actually, that was wrong.

I'm over big mainstream, high budget superhero movies. There are some good (or good enough TV shows), and low budget animated stuff. Not a huge fan of them, but there's some decent stuff.

A good amount of them are more than decent, but I understand where you're coming from. I appreciate the smaller budget superhero media even more so, because they know they're limited in some capacity and put extra effort into making their show/movie/book/game of better quality.

Didn't you like the Spider-Verse movies, because those are big budget animated films? I can't remember if you even saw them or not, so that's mainly why I am asking.

Nope, not seen those.

I did like the 3 Spiderman and 2 Amazing Spiderman films, though.

I enjoyed the second film, but it was very clearly rushed in parts due to the untimely death of Chadwick.

It was always going to be Shuri's film, but I feel like they were going to lean on Tchalla guiding her more.

Give'em a chance, if you ever decide. You won't regret watching them. The Spider-Verse movies are in my top spots now. Before that, it was mainly Spider-Man 2.

Agreed. It's partially why I am give WF an A+. The plus is mainly for the tribute to Chadwick/T'challa, and them putting so much effort into this movie.

Wakanda Forever was really good all things considered. And yes the loss of Chadwick Boseman left a great gaping hole in the MCU’s roster.

Chinese Simo Häyhä. He killed more people**** than Chris Kyle killed Iraqis.

Edit: Some of those kills are likely in-experienced South Koreans.

Did you mean to post this in the "What have you learned today?" thread?
No it’s anti woke in that actions like these got us North Korea. I know China didn’t want US forces on their border. When the US leaves a country you get either Iraq where woman can be in power and the place is improved only after years of investment, Vietnam which was a dumb decision but it worked out in the end with Vietnam being sold US weapons, Afghanistan which regress, and South Korea which requires decades of investment and exports to the US. When China leaves you get North Korea a state that is led by Kim dynasty where people cannot fled out of and where there food shortages. China send aid to Burma/Myanmar which will get worse but not at North Korea levels.

Edit: As an international relations guy I know what China is doing (realism). As an economics major I am horrified by what China is doing.

The next logical conclusion to this is for the EU or an Asian ally to send aid to Myanmar to counter China giving aid to Russia(If the EU and Japan isn’t doing it already). But not too much that it escalates the conflict to where China sends aid to the Mexican cartels. (If they aren’t already)

And this political analysis relates in what way to the biography of the sniper Zhang Taofang, other than noting that there was a war he participated in which can be read through with an anti woke/woke perspective? I also don't see what was funny about it, though granted that is par for the course for pretty much all your posts of this thread.

China and Russia get on like the US and Mexico get on. I.e. not well

China was asked by Biden to buy things of Russia to waste their surpluses and keep global prices down. I.E. If China wasnt buying oil off Russia rn, global oil prices would rise dramatically. And the Russians have less fuel for the war

The Korea were both authoritian until the last couple of decades. It wasn't until the US reduced thier influence of SK that they started having some sort of democracy... But there is a huge possibility that it has now failed as a bunch of angry men complained that women took all their jobs and money and now they have gone authoritarian.... despite it being a bunch of Oligarch's fault. Like normal, Capitalists get away with crimes by blaming someone else

China is now being held up as a liberal hero to save South Korea. South Korea is definitely the anti-woke one

I'll defend Amazing Spiderman 2 and think its a fine movie. Not great. Just fine. Definitely not terrible like other people pretended. It's like The Marvels. I went into that think it was going to be the worst thing ever and it was fine, probably in the top half of MCU movies

But the new Spider-Verse movie knock all the old movies out of the park. Much of the MCU too
