To say the least, I feel ready to reach into the screen and rip his bloated-uninformed head off.
Heh.

Don't get too emotional now. His opinion shouldn't ruin what you enjoy. So next time, let's not try to prove him right, shall we?

Actually, I react the same, though I am impartial to Dr. Pepper.

I am also angry when people slag off Super Mario Kart, any platform and (unbelievably) Timesplitters.

You diss the Fallout series, or mention how one console is better than another... and I'll smack you.

Right in the face.

With my rage*.

[small]*Rage includes, but is not limited to, a brick, a really old waffle I found under my bed, three pairs of Amy Whinehouse's underwear, a different brick, my penis, a pewter statue of the ninja turtle Michelangelo, or whatever else is handy at the time.[/small]

All the time.

You're taking this too seriously though: The internet is in general filled with the most cynical bitter hate filled creatures that dwell the planet, a population of self-absorbed pubescent twits who's knowledge on any given subject can usually be summed up with a few words as though simply saying 'meh' were the greatest debate known to man.

In short, the internet is stupid. You'll either learn to stop caring, or you'll become one of the above.

Don't believe me? Here's an example: I enjoyed Avatar.

If your first instinct is to burst into a rant on how the movie is a derivative ripoff and how I should be ashamed for enjoying it... then congrats, whether you know it or not, you become one of them. If you merely shrugged and said 'whatever', then there still might be hope for you.

Funny how that works.

And on a side note, I didn't enjoy Kingdom Hearts either. But just because I didn't doesn't mean you can't, so why does it matter? Or at least that's how I view things, but then I'm sorta used to people badmouthing the games I most enjoy.

Have I ever seen people bashing on games that I like... well yes, I enjoy the Final Fantasy series. And I see a few people hate on Bioshock and Fallout 3 and I love both of those. Sometimes they even bring up valid points, not that those points ever hurt my enjoyment but sometimes they make me go "Well I guess that game does do that." It only makes me angry when like really "cool" kids that only play Halo, CoD, and Madden are like "That game is gay" at like Katamari or Kingdom Hearts without playing it but I take those people opinions with no merit whatsoever, so even then it's just like "Why are we talking?"

I also enjoyed Avatar and get annoyed when people say it's a derivative ripoff! =P

Internet posts don't usually bother me at all, but this one in particular really drives me bonkers. I guess i'm just a little extra defensive with Kingdom Hearts.

Generally, people on the internet can't seem to grasp the concept of other people having their opinions, and said opinions not actually affecting YOUR outlook on a given subject

KH is DEFINITELY original and innovative, but the cover sported about 60 of my least favourite cartoon fuckwits, and a game with all of those would be high-pitched squeak massacre.

Call me a guy who doesn't know wha he's talking about, I'm still not playing the game.

Depends on what is said, the tone of the person who said it, wether we've had altercations before, etc. Anything pro PETA winds my up pretty quick though.

But everyone is so happy in Kingdom Hearts! I mean, Roxas is whiny at the start of number two, but otherwise they're all happy! And the cutscenes are not long, and I know Long Cutscenes, I played HAZE, Metal Gear Solid (All of them) and Assassins Creed. The cutscenes are miniscule in Kingdom Hearts.

Okay, yes the dialogue can suck at times, but I only noticed that during the second one at the start... God-Damn Seifer!

Calumon: Kingdom Hearts is amazing!
HAZE had a story!? [/sarcasm] but ah MSG1 how i loved your crazy awesome ideas (the psycho mantis boss fight was its best bit)

i love KH1, but never could get into KH2 and im never getting the portable games. (until Squeenix release a FF VII remake. so yeah that means never)

Well I'm currently on 358 and whatever. I finished KH2 a couple of days ago (I got my first console (PS2) christmas 2008 so I'm behind).
Kingdom Hearts has an excelent storyline, yes there are cutscenes but in between cutscenes there is so much you can do (and Sqaure games always have graphically excellent cutscenes). As for emo kids, well you've got to remember that the latest game (not counting Birth by sleep) is about a bunch of guys who have no hearts, so they do seem emotionally stagnated.
I hate people who make generalising comments about topics they know little about, they are convinced they are right and are impossible to debate with.

Yes....then I tend to remember that being angry at someone on the other side of a computer screen is pointless, but not after I write a long rant that never gets posted.

That Janick Gers is a hack and should be kicked out of Iron Maiden.

Then again, it WAS a youtube comment and they were probably trolling, but you don't kid about stuff like that.

I get really annoyed when people scream out angry hate for Halo on endless loops. People merely saying they don't like the game don't bother me, if it's appropriate in context then people can say that they are non fans and I accept that, people aren't going to always agree with me and I can accept that.
But when people scream out their hatred and declare the entire fanbase as 'sheep' and over simplify the story and indeed create a misrepresentation of the game itself and rant about it, it just annoys me.
It annoys me on youtube when I can't look up a video about Halo without someone angrily mispelling every word in the english language about how crap Halo is. It annoys me when someone can't ever start a thread about Halo, in any way, without at least attracting one person who has to spread their negative opinion on the matter and it annoys me to see videos and articles that in their descriptions of the game are flat out wrong and yet get praised as brilliant for the sole purpose of this article bashing Halo.
I just get sick of people claiming to be more mature and intelligent than 'those damned Halo fanboys' always being the first ones to leap into the depths of immaturity and go out of their way to ***** and moan about a video game.

Likewise I tend to get really shitty when, and I know this is nerdy even for me, people oversimplify some of my favourite characters in games. In particular Ashley Williams of Mass Effect. She's actually my favourite female character in Mass Effect but damn if I'm ever brave enough to say that on the Bioware forums. A common (admittedly easy to make) misconception about her opinions on aliens and suddenly she's a 'racist xenophobic bith' and everyone is over simplifying her and the second I say I liked her I get spammed with hate mail.
Like I said before, opinion is opinion and I have no problem with people thinking different to me about which character they like the most but Christ when a person is spreading misinformation they are still spreading misinformation regardless. Namely, I am astounded as to how many people think that when Ashley used the 'when you are fighting a bear and your only option is to sick your dog on it and run' that she was comparing the alien races to dogs. In reality she was saying that the Council looked on humanity the same way a hunter looks at his dog, sure they may care for it but if their life is at risk they will still sacrifice the dog because it isn't one of their own species and therefore is still less important.
My point is, I hate it when people over simplify things. Ashley isn't a racist, she had prejudices yes but that's because of her past and if you pursue the right dialouge that can turn around. While I know she isn't everyone's cup of tea in my own opinion she was well written and believable with flaws and likeable qualities thrown in as well.
Yet people, who constantly demand more believable and flawed female characters in games, then dedicate hours of time to bitching about her. It annoys me.

But still that's nothing compared to how angry I get when people over simplify the Elites in the Halo games... still I won't go into detail or I'll be typing this until the turn of the century.

Wow, that was some pretty heavy nerd ranting. Glad to have that out of my system.
