I have no issue with people who dislike a franchise, no matter how much I love it.

What pisses me off are those who hate on something without being able to give a valid reason for doing so. The people I am referring to are the ones who say something like "Halo sucks because it changed health systems for the worse and is generic". The issue with the phrase being that you can't blame a game for changing the style of something (for better or for worse) and call it generic. If it revolutionised something then it is innovative, and that means that the games that clone these ideas are the generic ones.

Another example is Fallout. I love Fallout 3 and am currently enjoying the first (although I despised it when I began playing). However, you frequently see the nostalgics ***** about all the things the original has which the newest doesn't, and it's usually a load of bullshit based upon said nostalgia. Like how the story is so much more deep and clever.

I played the first one and enjoyed it. The controls were sloppy and the story was alright, but it was something new.

When I saw previews for the second game I was a little excited but I never actually picked it up because I assumed the controls would still be very sloppy. Overall though I am glad I didn't get into it because the current games look crappy in my opinion.

I only get upset with people when they say "X game sucks" and don't back up their reason. I'm the type that can agree with most criticism when it comes to people bashing my favorite games. However if I find them a game funI don't really care what others think

I've never really felt that angry at another poster. The worst argument I've gotten into with someone here was really more of a civil debate.

Also, on the topic of Kingdom Hearts, when somebody first explained the premise to me, I thought it was a joke. I mean, Final Fantasy and Disney characters? Seriously?

As is to be expected from this website's foremost Yahtzee impersonator (I mean that in the best possible way).

And on-topic, I really don't give a flying anything about what someone says about a game or series; everyone has opinions, and very few are exactly alike. Getting butthurt over somebody's thoughts on something you had nothing to do with is the expressway to lifelong virginity and stroking out at age 30-- so I don't.

Although some guy tried to break my arm after I said Twilight Princess was crap.

Good luck to you, good sir.

Frankly, most people that badmouth a game I like I take with a grain of salt. No game is perfect. Even Zelda: Ocarina of Time has a rather formulaic dungeon system with very little variance that gets pretty repetitive by the time the forest temple rolls around. Fallout 3 is highly unbalanced (weapons wise) and can be way too easy even on the hardest difficulty. Starcraft is also unbalanced and a good player can be completely ganked by a swarm of zerglings within exactly 60 seconds from the word GO.

That being said, I still rank these three as probably the three best games I've ever played, but I can see if people want to badmouth them. My guess is this guy was either trolling to try and upset the KH fans, or was really annoyed by the Disney characters and the odd mix of RPG and real-time combat. (Once again, I listed two major problems I have with the game, but I still really really like it!)

I had a pretty vivid argument with someone who said Sylar could beat Dr. Manhattan. He turned juvenile fast and ignored facts I put on the table, and when I tried to back out without causing any form of animosity he decided to prolong the argument by calling me on it.

Other than that, no. But that argument lasted over a month.

But everyone is so happy in Kingdom Hearts! I mean, Roxas is whiny at the start of number two, but otherwise they're all happy! And the cutscenes are not long, and I know Long Cutscenes, I played HAZE, Metal Gear Solid (All of them) and Assassins Creed. The cutscenes are miniscule in Kingdom Hearts.

Okay, yes the dialogue can suck at times, but I only noticed that during the second one at the start... God-Damn Seifer!

Calumon: Kingdom Hearts is amazing!

But let's be honest Roxas does kinda have a reason to be whiny, after all his entire (fictional) life collapses before him over the course of 5 days and then he has to chose to stop existing (sort of) I think he's got a pretty good reason to be whiny. Hell I know I would if some guy in a black coat stopped time and tried to stab me.

People who post youtube videos, but do it badly. I found this one yesterday, which perfectly explains almost everything I get pissed about:

On a different game site, I saw a post about the latest Kingdom Hearts games saying they would suck cause there's nothing but long cutscenes with bad dialogue and emo kids.

To say the least, I feel ready to reach into the screen and rip his bloated-uninformed head off.

Guess you can call me a KH fanboy, but posts like this just make me furious. I personally consider people who hate Kingdom Hearts to be childhood-less and "heartless" =P.

Do you ever feel furious at a poster on a forum for saying hateful/troll comments about a game/franchise that you adore?
So how do you feel about people who have only seen it being played for about half an hour and thought it looked weird but must have had some merit due to the amount of praise it gets on the internet?

I get angry on forums only when I am directly insulted. My favourite game happens to be a very popular one with many fans and haters each spewing their own opinions so I'm used to seeing negativity, hatred, and rage. Ditto my favourite movie. However, when someone directly attacks me, I rage.

Emo-kids part was right, but I still have yet to play a KH game I don't like. Still can't beat the first though.

And no, because I'm usually the one posting said troll posts.
Great Avatar! That's freaking awesome, clicking to a random thread and seeing bubs and his ridiculous goggles staring back at me.

What I find funny is that if any character shows any kind of emotion no matter what just happened to him/her they are branded Emo. Really? Should we all just act like robots then?

All these comments are fair and really interesting to read, and i admit i probably overreacted a little (which is odd if you know me at all xD). I usually respect people's opinion and the games they enjoy. Though i may never understand why they like games such as Diablo or Street Fighter, I acknowledge that its a well designed game that is beyond my personal taste.

But this particular comment doesn't seem to be based in an opinion at all. It's just a hate-filled-incorrect-trolling statement that shouldn't exist in the first place.

And considering it's aimed at something that I freely admit, "has changed my life more than any other game", I can't help but feel extra defensive about it. It's like meeting a bully that just shows up and insults your best friend or sibling or something.

You see what i'm getting at here?

I just find that most JRPGS are pretty gay. Mostly because everyone looks like they're 12 and the clothing is fucked. Also, the protagonist tends to be a brooding little *****. But, that just me-maybe i'm just crazy.
