Valve Announcements for the next 12 months:

1> Portal 2 delayed until 2012
2> Source 2 coming soon
3> Left 4 Dead 3 coming out late 2011

I've given up on HL2:EP3...
this. Although heres hopes to TF3!
I thought about TF3, but they are still reworking TF2 and tweaking it, so I would put TF3 off until 2013 or so...
They're still putting out stuff for L4D 1, and they supported CZ long after CSS came out.

As much as I don't want to have it released so soon, I wouldn't be opposed to L4D3. But, honestly, I'd rather have them just release it as an expansion or something to the first game. Why make a whole new game when it is essentially the same as the first two with just a couple new gameplay elements?

Don't care about Episode 3 (if that's the case) because I have yet to play the games before that... I just haven't had a good chance to buy them yet. Working on it.

As for a third thing... Um... don't know. TF3 would make sense if you think about it. Portal Sequel. HLSequel (possibly). All were in the orange box. So... yeah.

Ok my solid predictions now are:

1. Steam for Linux
2. DoTA variant by Valve
3. L4D for the PS3

:p

Oh, shut up Gabe!

"Oh yeah, it might really be Episode 3 this time."

I'm not falling for it anymore Valve.

They already said they're not doing that. In spite of the evidence we've seen that they are.

Actually, that's probably one of them. Good guess.

P.S. Thanks

My guess?

1. DotA. No question here.
2. No HL2Ep3, at least not yet. Normally this wouldn't be a surprise, but since they said they have a surprise coming, many people will expect this game, which means that the status quo will actually come as a surprise to some.
3. Telltale Texas Hold'Em 2, featuring The Heavy.
Almost definately this. Although I'm guessing #2 would be filled in with Counterstrike 2.

1.) Meet the Medic
2.) Meet the Pyro
3.) Gabe going on a diet for charity

I hope that one of those is actually Episode 3, but lets be serious here. The chances of that happening are close to nil.

Prepare yourself for a hot dollop of SalamanderJoe theory!!

1: A new Counter-Strike for all platforms, including a deep single player campaign
2: A major expansion or sequel to Team Fortress 2, for all platforms
3: And Obviously, Half-Life 3, including Half-Life 2 Episode 3 on a 2nd disc as a prologue chapter
Bonus: No Left 4 Dead 3 until 2012 though, but expansions for the other two will still come

Of course this is all theory mixed in with a nice slab of personal desire, but seeing Valve listen to their fans, any new entry in the Valve catalogue of awesome games is a possibility.

I think the surprises will be:

1. Portal 2 will be followed by Portal 2: Episode 1
2. Portal 2: Episode 1 will be followed by Portal: Episode 2, with a shocking cliffhanger
3. Portal 2: Episode 2 will be followed by NOTHING, bitches!

I'll laugh so hard if Gabe announces: "As for HL2Ep3, we just released it....like right now, surprise! =D"
It would be great, people would spend the rest of the day with their jaw fully dropped

Who wants to bet on, of all these announcements, that none will be Episode 3?

by the way, we still love you, Valve.

This is more a hope then a guess. HL2:EPS3, new IP, and DoTA.
What I think it is: Episode 3 caned, new IP and a new Source.

I was thinking about that a couple days ago. I genuinely expect that to be Episode 3's announcement.

At something like E3 2016. "We'd like to announce that Half-Life 2: Episode 3 is being released... NOW! BUY IT!" *convention clears out*

My guess:

-Half Life 3.

It's been way too long for Valve to be working on a 5 hour game, Half Life 3 makes a hell of a lot more sense. Plus Half Life 2 and it's episodes were startinh to feel a little old, not bad by any means just not at innovite as they were, especially since they've spent the last decade being ripped off. It need's a new weapon set, a new enviroment, a few new enemies, a coat of paint to the graphics and something as game changing as the gravity gun. Anf for that you need a full blown sequel.

-Left 4 Dead 1 and 2 for the PS3.

Now that Valve has a dedicated PS3 team it makes a lot of sense to do, especially with Steamworks on PS3. Who knows, they may even sell the two in one package.

-A completely new IP.

This is what I want to see the most. I'm tired of sequels. This may even be Valves first step out of the FPS realm, they've already scated around interesting game types with Portal 1 and 2.
