They do. They would not have left such a gaping hole in the EULARagetrain said:Isn't it in the EULA or on back of game boxes saying that companies can dismiss online services at any time they feel like it? Or is it diffirent for an MMO?
Imagine this: I want to file a class action lawsuit against, say, PETA. And I go to their forums to recruit people. This causes disaray.Although banning people for sharing there thoughts about the game being shut down is quite a slap in the face, especially considering these players have been paying a monthly fee.
You and others really need to realize that TOR will be NOTHING like SWG. *insert yeah it won't suck joke here*BrotherRool said:Well this is a way to make people want to develop a game for you. Plus we all know that, despite what they say, these people will jump ship to The Old Republic as long as TOR doesn't screw up hugely
Thats what I thought :S then what grounds are they suing them on?CM156 said:EonEire said:Don't the EULA and the TOS state that they retain the rights to terminate service when they wish? They do. People just want to keep forums in order and on topic. A split like this disrupts it.
Also: word to the wise for anyone thinking of joining. In the past, members of a class have been forced to pay when the lawsuit gets thrown out. Think on that.

Massive butthurt is all I can say. Its a "Name a suit, pick a law" day. These guys have done nothing illegal (on both sides, mind you), so a lawsuit is really unwarented.Thats what I thought :S then what are the grounds they are attempting to sue them on?
I would get the irony if it was Sony sueing them but seeing as how its the other way around it is quite originalKeith K said:Sue Sony? How original.

I think it has something to do with the fact that the liscense is expiring and to pay that much for the chance at such a little payout is just silly. Besides, they do not want to compete with TOR when it comes out.RT-Medic-with-shotgun said:But LA is passing a money idea; we all now lucas is willing to pimp out his IP to make some more cash/stay relevant so why not make it free to play? Give it to Turbine let them make it GOOD.
