Exactly why I prefer smaller games with either unique art styles and character designs, than super heavy "gritty and realism". Even games like Dynasty Warriors Origins, while having realistic looking characters, are still stylized in certain aspects.

Although I have yet to play it, I've always thought that Sifu looks fucking great. I'm not the biggest 2D game guy, so I love me an indie game that looks great in 3D. Like Hi-fi Rush, now that I think about it.

It's like someone ran an A.I. uprez filter over a Fable game. Something fucking screwy happened here, because I can't imagine an experienced AAA studio signed off on this Small Soldiers-looking weirdness. I was somewhat joking about the A.I, but...

I think some higher up dipshit genuinely thought they could appeal to the Fortnite crowd with this art style. It would be even sadder if the real reason was that they actually thought this looked good.

That might not be too far from the truth - Afterall, EA forced Bioware to use the Frostbite engine eventhough it wasn't ideal for RPGs and the team wasn't familar with it.

I never enjoyed nor was interested in a Bioware game my entire life. Not helping matters are that indie studios have been running circles around them since the mid 2010s now.

The weird proportions, the three different size and shape eyes on the alien and robot dog, the gun that's a mishmash of sort misaligned parts, the moon in the back that doesn't look properly circular, and of course the title with its disregard for readability and consistency in font style.

But it's not. Ruff Trigger was a 2006 mediocre Ratchet & Clank clone.

I am not shocked in the slightest that Rockstar would overcharge on this. They did the same with GTAV on 8th generation consoles. Why would anyone expect differently? Shadows of the Damned Hella Remastered just came out at $24.99. $30, If you pre order the physical version. I got both. That game came out in 2011, and is at half the price.
