I didn't know this, but apparently you have to be tied to the online server to even play the BF6 single player campaign. That's a big no for me, @FakeSympathy. Is it the mid 2010s again? Why do western AAA companies keep doing this?

I was gonna update the BF6 thread;

I got the game on PC, and had no menu options that asked me to install all that stuff you see on 1:41 - 1:47. It looks like Dunkey is playing this on PS5, probably physical disk?

But yea, I didn't realize until now, but you need to be online to play the campaign. It's pretty bullcrap.

Campaign being pretty mid, or dare I say worst one of the franchise, is a whole separate issue.

Gears of War is a trilogy that defines a generation of gaming for some people and we got it on the rival platform before we got the originals on PC. How we don't have a trilogy port in spite of 14 years passing is insane to me and apparently insane to the talented people who made Project Jacinto.

The way Microsoft is going, that is never going to happen. "Making Gears great again"? Epic doesn't seem to really care either. Get used to playing those old games again.

Sounds like the bloke is more myth than legend.

The post-Kickstarter era has shown us that a lot of auteurs (self-proclaimed and otherwise) are/were nothing without their team. This guy wasn't any different.

The asshole is an egoistical bastard too. There is nothing special about him, and I am glad had no interest in this game. This was part of the reason why. The fact he couldn't stick to a vision and changing is mind on a whim, made him no different the execs he hated at Rockstar. He who fights monsters, Benzie. He who fights monsters.

What’s ironic is he was the one the Houser bros. apparently called upon to get RDR in ship-shape because the game was a nightmare (not the undead kind) a year before release. Probably also the lead cause of that lawsuit against Rockstar for unpaid royalties. Fixing RDR was likely the last big thing he did at the company, after producing/directing the GTA’s since 3.
