Wow, you win this. ANY of the names that the Vault Dweller gets are pretty awful, too.

Also, Gordon Freeman WAS a great name until I had it parroted at me by every NPC. Oh, I see, you're pronouncing it "free man" in an attempt to make it all sound more prophetic, clever! Excuse me while I go and slit my wrists, just to have something else to do...

Not only were the names of characters you meet randomly poorly translated for no discernable reason... when you beat the game, the credits included a montage of the names of -every- character, NPC, townie, whatever in the game.

Some of them translated -correctly-.

Evil Witch Nimufu? Sure. Um... sure. Sounds japanese.
Real translation: Nymph Omanya.

The game is -filled- with that.

Yeah it isn't a great name but it IS the name of a historical figure so they didn't have much of a choice.

Link, Solid snake, Tidus, and really anything stereotypical (Dimitri for Russian char, Mario for Italian etc etc)

Yes. Yes it does. But hey, it's Koei's localization team. I can forgive it when it's translating from one language to another language, and then to a third language.
