What? People thought Pokemon was for kids?
Those people are communists.

Seriously though. Just yesterday in picked up Ruby after not playing it for a while and I can't believe how addicting it is. I'm huge on having problems staying interested in games. But it's just SO MUCH FUN.
Oh dear lord, you have the same problem as I. I loved emerald version it was great.

Pokemon is going to sell to the older generation as well as the younger one now. back in the 90's when it first came out probably not. but since the kids that loved the games when they were children are now adults, possibly with children of their own. of course they are going to buy it. be it for nostalgia or wanting their own child to have that fun that we did.

this is going to sell, not like it used too but it will make some $$

Anyways, I think Pokemon would be more appealing to older newcomers if you could just battle random people online instead of having to deal with the friend codes.
welcome to the world of pokemon black and white. where you can randomly battle people all over the world.
What has two thums and can't keep his facts straight?

This guy!

Thinking about it more, what would be nice is a PvP demo with rental Pokemon like the Stadiun games or the Battle Factory. You'd be able to fight other people, but not play the single player. Your customization options would be limited, but you'd be able to do things like decide what pokemon gets to hold what item and have a pool of about six moves per Pokemon.

This would let people experience PvP, the deepest part of the game, without having to grind through the single player first. It would be sort of like preconstructed decks for trading card games in that you have planty of things you can do right off the bat, but to get the full experience, you have to buy the game.

Game Freak: Stating the obvious since 2011.

Although I guess it's good to get the word out to people who don't know any better.

Man the gaming industry as a whole really needs to get past this whole kids/adults schism.

Why can't a game just be... you know... for EVERYONE. In the movie industry, this is known as a Family Movie. That is to say, movies enjoyed by all ages.

That little 'E' on the gamebox serves a relevant purpose, you know...

Pokemon White will be the first pokemon game in which I nickname my pokemon.
The regionalised names are outstandingly poor this time around...

I've played Black already so though I didn't run a nuzlocke, I'd recommend it as a good game to nuzlocke, it's pretty easy.

20 and doing Nuzlocke runs, you'll never be as attached to a team as you will in a Nuzlocke run, each loss is a personal reminder of how you failed at some point.

It's a shame no-one I know will be getting one of the new games. I wanted to sarcastically call anyone who bought White a racist.

In any case I'm intrigued by their apparent attempts to mature the game a bit. I might give this generation a try. (Haven't played since the Ruby/Saphire days.)

I'll probably be trying one of the games out, will see if any of my friends get one (some of the most fun times with pokemon comes from battling your friends :) )

I thought it was always targeted at older audiences as well? I mean no way could a kid possibly understand EV training...even i struggle. Pokemon is actually quite a complex game, and half the stuff in the games, kids won't understand, such as the difference between special and physical attacks.

But still, nice to know more has been done to make the games appeal more, now to brain wash more of my friends to get this ;)

even my mom plays it

and she also thinks that Mew is way, WAY better than Lucario, as a pokemon itself

and she was the one who introduced me to Squirtle with Pokemon Red

thanks mom
Just putting this out, you have one awesome mum!

I want a dirty, hairy chest
And beard around my jaws
To catch disease is my real test
To spread it is my cause

I will travel across the land
Sneezing far and wide
Each Pathogen to understand
Each germ that lives inside

PATHOGEN
Gotta catch 'em all

It's them or me
A fight for immunity
Oh, they'll be my end
In a world we must offend

PATHOGEN
Gotta catch 'em all

Your face so blue
The doctors will pull you through
Cough on me, I'll sneeze on you

PATHOGEN!
Gotta catch 'em all, gotta catch 'em all
PATHOGEN!
You have just won the internet, congratulations!

I've only been playing competitively in recent years and didn't bother getting any of the DS games. Of course I also don't have a DS but the story changes kind of makes me want to go grab a used one.

I'm really glad to hear that people realize that Pokemon isn't a kiddie game, and that there are still people who realize that adding new content to a game does not make it bad. Honestly, more Pokemon make you complain? You've got nothing to complain about. More content is generally considered a good thing, and if you don't like it, you don't have to buy it. That said, people who don't acknowledge any generations beyond the first, or just don't give the series a chance (*cough* wc alligator *cough*) make me sick.
