Heck, I was playing the NES when it came out when I was 5 and I play Pokemon.

I'll take a more detailed story though. Time to find a third for my ground dragon and badass penguin team.

Some of the logistics that goes into pokemon would probably fly over most elementary school kids' heads. It sure did for me.

Though I stopped watching the Pokemon anime yeeeears back, I always play the games. I'm an "adult" I guess, since I'm over 18, but that doesn't change the fact that it's a fun game.
I'm into game stories, so if they want to go down that route, then go ahead.

First question, should I get Black or White? Can't make up my mind.

Second, I am so damned excited for this, they have a season schedule and I have been trying to keep myself from getting looking up all the details but my excitement level is skyrocketing.

Also in High School most of my friends were pokefans, they helped break down my arrogant attitude and get me back into the game.

I wish the escapist had a "like" button to what facebook or other sites have. I only heard about this little fact a few days ago, otherwise i think its BRILLIANT!

And im in my adult years and still play pokemon. Sort of ashamed of it (because it is so commonly associated with children). Maybe if they had a more adult version of pokemon for a tv series (im not talking x-rated) but one where we get to see some more of the darker sides of pokemon and more advanced speech from the characters.

I tried to watch Pokemon recently and i cannot stress enough how much Ash actually did my nut in. Team Rocket Forever!

.. This makes me really want to get the Black and White conditions of Pokemon games. But, I don't have the system to play it on and on top of that I bet my parents would judge me for wanting to buy it Haha, but it's more then just a kids game I admit so yea.
Man I'm 18 and my parents judged me when I asked for a credit card to pre order it.....
Then again they despise all videogames

Gamefreak, you ruined my childhood!!!

I really wish Pokemon would either go away or abandon the "Gotta catch 'em all" theme, I spent way too much allowance trying to get it all only to realize how much money I'd wasted on a very bland JRPG with cartoon animals to enslave instead of party members with personality. I realized this about the third generation of Pokemon games. People have different tastes I understand, but Pokemon is a completionist's dream, and also a completionist's nightmare. Yeah it's not just for kids, it's for people with OCD and hoarders.

Anyway. I am getting this Sunday and importing my leafgreen team once I finish, Unfortunately changes will have to be made for all the BRAND NEW Pokemon.

When me and a friend discovered smogon.com it completely changed the way we played Pokemon. A couple months later you find yourself with a almost perfectly IV Breed, Move Breed and EV trained Team with a proper balance of Wall, Spinner, Sweeper and stealth rocks ect.

I personally find it incredibly fun, and when you start churning out your own builds things get really interesting.

Anyways I can't wait for Black & White ^_^
My friend and I discovered smogen as well, needlessly to say it was heart breaking when that perfectly trained and bred Garchomp was made uber...

I actually can't wait for this new one, I genuinely think it could be the best one ever. EVAH
I think the fact that were forced to use the new pokemon and can't trade for any of the older ones until you complete the main quest pretty neat. Although by all means all they probably did was a pokemon paint job being were still going to run into the same sort of pokemon. (ie: Pikachu, Mareep, Eletrike and Shinx for beginner ele type)

What? People thought Pokemon was for kids?
Those people are communists.

Seriously though. Just yesterday in picked up Ruby after not playing it for a while and I can't believe how addicting it is. I'm huge on having problems staying interested in games. But it's just SO MUCH FUN.

Actually to be honest I don't see very many kids play Pokemon as I do well. Us. Maybe I haven't been around enough children(with good reason) but I don't honestly think they will like Pokemon like we do. In a lot of ways Pokemon is like dynasty warriors. It's a good game with a strong following that's been with them for at least ten years or so even though every game is sort of exactly the same but with things added and features randomly removed and added with no rhyme or reason. Except Pokemon marketed the hell out of there product and made themselves a household name while dynasty warriors became really niche and now they are the poorer game cause they didn't form a generation.

I have to laugh because I hadn't thought about Pokemon since never finishing Silver back in the day. Before I left on my winter internship I found my old Advance and Red. Then, of course I had to rewatch Kanto. I have to say I'm not so happy with the way the Anime has gone since the old Indigo League days (GAAHHH the VOICES!!!), but I may just have to buck up and get a DS and Black (or White...hmmmm...)

Though, when did the Pokemon get so cutesy looking? The intervening years have definitely inverted in badassness, at least through my rose-colored nostalgia goggles. The art seems...rounder, and different...somehow. I guess I've just been away too long.
