The Chrono series.

Chrono Cross was somewhat okay, but the plot was one giant black hole and having 40 playable characters with cardboard cut-out personalities was a letdown, especially with Chrono Trigger's closely-knit party. Radical Dreamers was a good game. I have no idea how the supposed remake was worse.

The series has been dead ever since, aside from "Chrono Brake/Break" being trademarked a decade ago. I pray the dream team will eventually get together again and make a sequel more connected to Trigger.

And the worst part? SquareEnix sent cease & decease letters to two fan-made sequels, possibly the best fan games ever: http://crimsonechoes.com/ http://www.opcoder.com/projects/chrono/ We would think they did this because they were working on an official game, but by the looks of things, they really don't give two shits.

"At E3 2009, SE Senior Vice President Shinji Hashimoto remarked "If people want a sequel, they should buy more!"."

...yeah, they really don't care.

Metroid, since Other M killed it and all.
No it did not. And above all, I wish never to see Metroid rebooted.

Also, Medievil, we need another Medievil, though, I'd prefer to see a follow-up not a reboot.
yes I am aware of the psp remake.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but Spyro is kind of already getting a reboot. And he looks like this...

The horror...
Oh my god poor Spyro, and that was the very first game I ever had and played on ps1 back when I got it in 98. Just got plus so playing Year of the dragon now, even after all these years Spyro is still fun. Sony should really have a company like naughty dog be in charge of a sequel.

I wouldn't mind seeing some of the old Metal Gear games remade into the current generation. I'd prefer to see a MGS3 reboot. The Star Wars: Battlefront games would be a great reboot also.
You're in luck MGS3 is coming to 3DS with added gimmick 3D /facepalm

Ultima. Specifically starting at Ultima IV and making a more solid continuity.

Jet Set Radio, the game series that taught me that even an uninteresting story can be forgiven if the gameplay is fucking awesome.

I think Spyro would be an awesome reboot. I grew up playing Spyro and that was the first game I played on a console, it would be awesome to see the first game in all its glory on the PS3 graphics engine. Some of the .hack games would also be good for a reboot.

So, what game series or game do you think should get a reboot?
You little ninjaing prick OP. Both Spyro and .Hack? DAMN IT!

Prince of Persia then.

Rogue Squadron and Battlefront (or at least sequels that go beyond the films).

Also, they need to try something like Chromehounds again.

Old style Resident Evil games instead of the FPS geared ones of today.

Star Wars Battlefront definitely needs to be picked up.

Call of Cthulhu Dark Corners of the Earth should be remade and Destiny's End should be properly finished. That story was epic and never had a closing...

Defiantly Time Splitters, weren't the guys who used to make them bought out by Crytek and they were working on the Crysis 2 multi-player, and after that they were going to work on TS4? Because thats at least what I heard a while ago.
Other than TS, Metal Arms. Has any one here besides me played that game? It was this fun little halo knock off I think is 100% better the the Halo series, it was defiantly a hidden gem from the last console generation.

Resident Evil. The storyline has been in the garbage since RE4. Well, it hasn't been that good since Code Veronica. So they definitely need a fresh start.

Also, Double Dragon. Man, I miss that game.

Descent: Freespace.

I need it. You need it. The world needs more Freespace.

Hell, just remake the original two, with the X3 engine, I'd be set.

Hmm.

I've played all but one of the games in the Breath of Fire series, I'd like that to be revived or something.

Hey, did I see someone say Jet Force Gemini? Man, that was an awesome game.Even though I can't stand modern shooters, I'd be happy to see it rebooted, as it would be really difficult to make all depressive and brown.

Purely because I can't get past one bit on the emulator thanks to textures and I broke my N64 by spitting a sweet at the ON switch. I never could do that one Floyd mission...

Well, my top 3 all made the list already, in order even. Breath of Fire, Homeworld and Legend of Legaia. All 3 were strong games that left me feeling let down by their sequels. Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter, Homeworld: Cataclysm, and Legaia 2 were all... not good. Not really bad, just not good. Well, Legaia 2 was pretty bad, but the other 2 just weren't as good as the originals.
