Let's see

Slay simple little 5 minutes strategy game that is more addictive than oreo cream covered crack. I don't have enough praises for idea and simplicity of the game. Started on pc, expanded everywhere including mobile and Playstation HOME

Crimson Sea 2 third person action game from PS2 (exclusive) that had funny history with Crimson Sea being XBOX exclusive. Other than that it's usual fare with two characters (male and female and yes female is in body fitting micro dress with holes in "strategic" places) but had a fun, fun combo system and story so convoluted it would find pleasant home in MGS universe.

I played Descent years ago. Couldn't play it for very long without getting simulation sickness though.
I tried it on the Rift a while ago and came uncomfortably close to a re-union with my breakfast a few seconds in. They really should've added a cockpit view. It's an awesome game though and one that was played by many, many people back in the day so not really a good pick for this thread imo.

One game I really liked was Hard Edge on PS1, an anime styled Resident Evil clone which is utter crap really but I kinda loved it back then. I don't think I ever met anyone who knows this game.

edit: it was called "T.R.A.G.: Tactical Rescue Assault Group - Mission of Mercy" for the US market by the way. No idea why they would change such an instantly memorable title...

Steambot Chronicles
Gotcha Force
Dokapon Kingdom (though since I've gotten into actual board games I've become less fond of it)
And admittedly this one isn't as obscure for mecha fans but I've only ever met one other person in real life who's heard of the ACE series without me having introduced it to them force.

Eternal Daughter is good for it's soundtrack story and gameplay and I don't know a soul who has played that.

Holy crap, I was JUST thinking about this game the other day. I went through a period in middle/high school when I wasn't able to buy a lot of games because my parents wanted me to focus on school, so I looked to freeware games. This, Ahriman's Prophecy and Spirit Engine were the three big RPGs I found, though I never finished a single one.

It's too bad ED runs like poo on modern machines. When I try to play it now the actual game takes up less than 1/5 of the screen and is surrounded by black. Saw a few random forum threads about it when I used Google but no fix.

Gotcha Force

It's a strange action/shooter type of game where you make a whole team of various characters (each with all attacks mapped to two buttons, with more variety added on whether you use the attack at melee range or charge it and so on) and then simply go to war with other teams, either an army of bots or another player using another team.

From what I recall, it got pretty mediocre reviews (although I personally loved it) and didn't sell much outside of Japan, so now it's an extremely difficult game to find. I found a used copy selling for the price of a new game several years after it came out and a quick search online suggests that a non-import copy sells for up to $350.

To this day, I think I've met two people online who have played it and the only people I know offline who have played it are the single person who introduced me to it and the people I have introduced it to.

Chex Quest:

I still can't get over the fact that this game exists. You play as a cereal guy that zaps cereal eating alien things to another dimension. Don't worry you're not killing them.

I can think of only two:

Virtua Quest: Yes, it's a spin-off of Virtua Fighter... No, I'm not making this up... Yes, I did LP this game TWICE; one on the GameCube and the other on the PS2... No, it's just THAT mediocre of a game, which is why not that many people actually know about it... No, I have no idea how many times I have mentioned this game on this forums...

Odama: No, not "Obama" because X-Play already made that joke... Yes, it utilized the GameCube mic in terms of overall gameplay... Yes, the game can get a bit luck-based if you either suck at Pinball or suck at giving out voice commands, even though I won't blame you on the latter since you could literally just say anything and that may or may not make your army do "something", at least... Yes, it's better than Virtua Quest in my opinion, but that's not saying much...

And FUCK YES, both these games deserve a sequel! (Wait... Who am I talking to again? *moral bar decreases*)

Chameleon Twist
I was an N64 kid, and as such I played every weird or obscure game on that bloody thing, but this is the most UNKNOWN one that I had something of a childhood with. It's a... well it's an N64 3D platformer what the hell is there to say really? It was weird as fuck too, you stuck to things with your tongue and you didn't really look much like a chameleon, except for the opening sequence where you do, and you get attacked by an army of evil Oreos and... yeah it's one of those.
Some runners up would be Tonic Trouble, which I have actually heard of another human being knowing about, and Rocket: Robot on Wheels, which is actually a damn good game and probably one of my favorites on the N64.
Oh I also vaguely remember a game called "Starshot" it was about a circus in space that was going bankrupt and needed some guy with stupid looking hair to run around doing shit on the surface of various planets, it was uh... it was a piece of shit, but it's the kind of shit that I almost want to hunt down and try again just to prove myself that it wasn't a hallucination.
Oh and Iggy's Wreckin' Balls, the game that disturbed me deeply as a child, I never did recover fully...

I also grew up with Chibi-Robo as one of my favorite games, but that game is slowely coming back into the public eye and it did actually get a sequel so I don't know if that really counts.

I remember Odama! I actually fucked up my throat from yelling "ADVANCE!" "FALL BACK!" "ADVANCE!" all day for a few weeks when that game came out. Still, a Feudal Japan themed voice controlled pinball strategy game is a rare thing indeed, I don't know how the hell they'd pull it today, but I'd love a sequel, if nothing else then so that horrific man-spider from level 8 can haunt a whole new generation.

So this is the thread where you post games that are so obscure you feel as though you're the only one that has played them. Obviously no you're not the only one that has played this game because you're never the only one [footnote]If I don't point this out someone will inevitability lecture me on this fact.[/footnote] but we're not being literal. Just post a game you feel no one else has really heard of and hope to be proven wrong or whatever.

Mine is Descent:

It's this fun little game that had the brilliant idea of putting you in a spaceship with the ability to fly around, and then it has you navigate extremely cramped corridors for the whole game. Still I remember having a lot of fun with it because I played it with a joystick. Plus it has some fun weapons.
I played Descent years ago an, while I loved it, man did I suck at it! A great concept and I wish I'd given it more time.

In my early PC gaming days, I played a game called Nomad, which I bought new for a whopping £3.99 brand new (even back then games usually cost x10 that much and then some). Once I'd farted around with my config.sys file to free up enough EMS memory to play the game with sound - who remembers doing that? - I got into it.

The basic premise is that an unmanned alien ship crashes on Earth and is "repaired by someone" and that they are going to strap you in (you get to choose your name and the ship name) and launch you in it to see who and what is out there. Oh, and once you're launched, you're on your own, cupcake so don't come crying to us if it gets rough!

Your ship starts out very weak (no Elite-style Cobra Mk.3 in this game, you big Jessie!)but you can trade and do missions for a rebel alliance fighting the evil Korrok (hey I never said it was an original plot) to get better parts and weapons for your ship. Every ship has a captain you can converse with, swap facts, trade good or engage in combat if you don't like them / they don't like you.

There was also a fair bit of visual and but subtle humour and the balance between a desperate fight for survival and a light-hearted tone was just right.

Anyway - I loved it but only ever met one other person who actually played it!

I just thought of another one. The Dune RTS games by Westwood. They were generally known for the Command and Conquer series and rightly so but I quite liked their Dune games. Plus Dune 2000 had live action cutscenes with fucking John Rhys-Davies in it:

*EDIT: Removed Youtube vid*
Not too sure about that one, Dune II is considered the birth of the RTS genre and thought of as one of the finest games of all time. That being said I haven't met many people in person who know of it so you may be onto something.

Also, I thought Dune 2000 was a steaming turd if I'm brutally honest.

I would have to say X3 Terran Conflict. I think that only me and a few other people on another board have played this game. Here is the trailer:
I own X3:TC. It's okay. Just wish the dev hadn't completely dropped the ball with X-Rebirth.
Yeah I was excited for X rebirth and still that game is disappointing.

Cadaver. The guy just bounces around like crazy shit.

Heroquest and Space Crusade made pretty good computer games too.

I can't be the only one the played them, but the Dragonlance series of games doesn't get enough love. I think there was a side-scrolling combat-oriented one, but that's not the one I mean.
Heroquest was so-so, but Space Crusade is one of the first games I remember ever playing, and seeded a lifelong love of the Blood Angels, even though half the reason I liked them at the time was because of their colour scheme (the Imperial Fists look pretty natty too).

On the D&D side of things, I'm going to say Birthright: The Gorgon's Alliance, which was Skyrim and Medieval: Total War mashed up into a single incredible omni-game, both RPG dungeon crawler and RTS at once (sorry, Dragonshard, you were fun, but you were no Birthright).

I'm not going to post any video, you'll know how to find it if you want to. I have the trump card.

ET: The Extra-Terrestrial for the Atari 2600.

Yup. That was stuck in my machine for a few months. Given how few were sold, I'm pretty sure I'm the only one nere able to say I played it when it came out.
