Games That Deserve Sequels

Hey folks, I think it'd be interesting to see what everyone's opinion on this would be. What older games would you love to see made into a true sequel - using current technology to ramp things up. Not a re-imagining, or new genre with the same IP - but an actual, up to date sequel.

I'm gonna start things off by recommending a new Crusader [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crusader_(game_series)] game. The original Master Chief, but he talked even less.

Anyone else?

Ultima VII really deserves a good sequel. We'll pretend the others didn't happen.

Aside from that, I'd really like to see a modern addition to the X-Wing/TIE Fighter/etc series.

i have to go with emperor of the fading sun. i loved that game, even though i never had the patience to totally play though it. if they streamlined it a bit, it would be awesome. if you've never heard of it, i like to think of it has a combination of master of orion and dune.

I actually really enjoyed Ultima VI [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultima_6]. Also, I'd love to see a space dogfighting game that was built around fun, instead of trying to appreciate all the hig-res-texture spaceships with normal mapping that zip by at 500m/sec and 10FPS.

Uplink, Vampire: Bloodlines (I will drive this into the ground - best game no one bothered to buy), UO (those of you who've been around a while will get this), JK2 (Academy kinda sucked), System Shock 2, Mutant League Football.

I thought Syndicate had a sequel? I'd be up for another Syndicate sequel, though.

A Beyond Good & Evil sequel, though, is something I dream about at night.

Yeah, there was Syndicate Wars, which was decent. I want a glorious next-gen update, though!

I would like a Beyond Good & Evil sequel as well, but I think the sequel I want more than anything else is Maniac Mansion.

Blood ,a solid campy horror title, thats fun and offers lots of odd weapons/monsters and large well built levels with a secret counter.

How about a Doom/Quake sequel that dose not suck? or at least its engine/setting dose not rape and devour the game and a secret counter too.

A good Deus ex that is not damaged for the consoles.

A Hexen sequel that can retain its freshness though out the whole game (been playing 1/2 on and off, needs more weapons....you wind up doing the same thing thought out the last half of it...add more powers and stat boosters and monster types should help it).

Arx faltalis 2 and no Dark messiah dose not count.

How about sequels to classics that are not drown in hollywoodized reality and then further watered down for the toothless masses?

Hmm, I would think Psychonauts would be prime for a sequel, but then again Beyond Good and Evil is equally deserving. Outside of those 2, very obvious titles, I would love to see a return to the Baldur's Gate Series.

I'm also going to nominate a new Star Control [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Control] game be considered as well. A lot of time was spent playing these. :) Also the old Epic classic, Solar Winds.

Landslide, I somehow doubt you intended to link to The Escapist - maybe this site [http://sc2.sourceforge.net/] instead?

Most of the games that've been mentioned, sure, but give me a follow-up on the DS to Ogre Battle 64 [http://www.mobygames.com/game/n64/ogre-battle-64-person-of-lordly-caliber] any day.
