So how much are Irrational Games paying you good sir?Leemaster777 said:The snip strikes again
Scary enough it is, you remember gasp-puuu high five!JohnnyDelRay said:Actually I loved Silpheed, wasn't it that really early 3D-angled space shooter?Snotnarok said:Silpheed, there were a few iterations of it on DOS, Sega CD, PS2 but no one I know has ever played one of them.
Games that make my list:
- Severance: Blade of Darkness
- GG Aleste (it was on Game Gear, dunno if versions made it to anything else)
- Kensei Sacred Fist (on PS1, realistic fighting game for its time, which represented fighting styles and blocks more accurately than I'd ever seen)
- Bushido Blade (also on PS1, I wish they would make another game like this but I don't think they ever will, it wouldn't sell. There might be a thread about it somewhere 'round here)
many more but they don't come to mind right now...
Oh hell yeah, I remember Sacrifice. In fact I have a boxed copy in my cupboard at homeIBlackKiteI said:A while ago I suddenly remembered this game called Sacrifice.
I dont remember much of it as I had only played the demo, but it was aweeeesome, you have a wizard and you lead a small army of different creatures, to get more guys you need to kill enemies and take their souls.

Anyone who can properly identify this game has my most profound respect.
I loved that game. I must get it on Steam as my sister lost her copy of it. Hero creation FTW!Leemaster777 said:Freedom Force. God, I loved that game.
If you've never heard of it, gameplay-wise, it's basically the precursor to the Marvel Ultimate Alliance series, as in it's a top-down squad-based RPG.
It's a barrel of fun, it's got this whole golden age of comics feel to it, with an over-the-top announcer who narrates the story, and villains with comically silly plans. For example, there's an evil alien force that wants to take over the world, and they decide to do this by sending canisters of purple space radiation to the planet, in the hopes that the most evil people in the world will gain superpowers, and destroy the world. This, of course, backfires in spectacular fashion, but this isn't the game to turn to if you want logical motivations or decisions.
The heroes themselves are fun to watch, but instead of describing them, here's a picture:

Possibly the best part of the game is that it comes with a hero creator, and it lets you import your created heroes into the single-player game to use.
And if you aren't conviced yet, it's made by Irrational Games, yup, the same guys that made Bioshock. It's on steam right now, check it out, you won't be dissapointed.

You played this guy with no face. And his vehicle of choice was a flying church. And he had a gauntlet that made solid holograms.
