True Crime: Streets of LA
I bet you will find a lot of people on here that remember that. Heck, I played it to death for months, though I liked Streets of New York better, though I didn't like that it seemed like every other word out of a pedestrians mouth was fuck. NY was glitchy but it had some of the most hilarious glitches I have seen in a game. LA just got weird with all the Chinese mythology and zombies and stuff, I felt like I was playing a serious game until that point.

I would be surprised if many people didn't know about the True Crime games, because come on Christopher Walken was a major voice actor in both games.

-------
I can't really think of many games that might not be remembered, with a place like the Escapist, there is bound to be some that remembers,

OT: probably Turok. The first games were great, but no one seemed to play the xbox 360 version...
That is because the true Turok, was on the N64.

Well knew of it, never played it, but I just decided not say I knew about it.

Freedom Force. God, I loved that game.

If you've never heard of it, gameplay-wise, it's basically the precursor to the Marvel Ultimate Alliance series, as in it's a top-down squad-based RPG.

It's a barrel of fun, it's got this whole golden age of comics feel to it, with an over-the-top announcer who narrates the story, and villains with comically silly plans. For example, there's an evil alien force that wants to take over the world, and they decide to do this by sending canisters of purple space radiation to the planet, in the hopes that the most evil people in the world will gain superpowers, and destroy the world. This, of course, backfires in spectacular fashion, but this isn't the game to turn to if you want logical motivations or decisions.

The heroes themselves are fun to watch, but instead of describing them, here's a picture:

Possibly the best part of the game is that it comes with a hero creator, and it lets you import your created heroes into the single-player game to use.

And if you aren't conviced yet, it's made by Irrational Games, yup, the same guys that made Bioshock. It's on steam right now, check it out, you won't be dissapointed.

Silpheed, there were a few iterations of it on DOS, Sega CD, PS2 but no one I know has ever played one of them.
Actually I loved Silpheed, wasn't it that really early 3D-angled space shooter?

Games that make my list:
- Severance: Blade of Darkness
- GG Aleste (it was on Game Gear, dunno if versions made it to anything else)
- Kensei Sacred Fist (on PS1, realistic fighting game for its time, which represented fighting styles and blocks more accurately than I'd ever seen)
- Bushido Blade (also on PS1, I wish they would make another game like this but I don't think they ever will, it wouldn't sell. There might be a thread about it somewhere 'round here)

many more but they don't come to mind right now...
Scary enough it is, you remember gasp-puuu high five!

Terry's Big Adventure. An e-cookie to anyone else who genuinely ran across this quirky little platformer (and isn't related to me)
Or Pac-Mania.
...Defenders of Oasis?

-Iron Tank (NES): Surprisingly good, can be fairly difficult.
-Legend of Mana
-Starsiege Tribes (well, nobody really talks about it today, and I haven't seen any serious discussion about it in years)
-Ice and Fire (One of the oddest sort of games I've ever played. It was made by the creator of Tetris, IIRC)

A while ago I suddenly remembered this game called Sacrifice.

I dont remember much of it as I had only played the demo, but it was aweeeesome, you have a wizard and you lead a small army of different creatures, to get more guys you need to kill enemies and take their souls.
Oh hell yeah, I remember Sacrifice. In fact I have a boxed copy in my cupboard at home :)

OT: Word Rescue and Math Rescue. I can be almost certain nobody knows about them.

I loved that game. I must get it on Steam as my sister lost her copy of it. Hero creation FTW!

Ape Escape. I loved that game as a kid and have only ever heard anyone ever talk about it once. When monkeys are shooting rockets at you while you try to catch them with a teleportation net I would think it would garner some popularity...

Invasion from Beyond. Known as B-Movie in Europe. You played a UFO or something. That's all I remember.
Tail Concerto. Jersey Devil. Hell, just scour your old Playstation Underground discs for some gems. XD.
