There are just so many. Especially all those gritty, rainy, grey-brown, boring as fuck shooters about chunky men waddling around in chunky armour shooting people and grunting.
There ARE games that should never have existed. Take (as I stated above) PacMan for the Atari 2600. Not only was that a universally agreeably TERRIBLE game, it was so unpopular that it brought the ENTIRE GAMING INDUSTRY down with it, causing the US video game crash of 1983, where tons of gaming companies went bust and loads of people lost their jobs. I think pretty much everyone can agree that that game was better off not existing.Noctius said:ok this is really selfish
yes there are games that some people dont like
but you shoould remenber that this is a comunity
and for every single game in existence, there is at least 1 person in the world that likes it
you dont like it you dont buy it
but no one should decide what games are mede and wich arent
i dont like WoW, but i dont think the world would be better if it never existed
cuz other people like it
and they are happy playing it
so i dont get to wish that it was never made
thats the same as asking if you wanted a person to never been born
NO ONE SHOULD DECIDE THAT
that is all..
thank for the attention and sorry for the rage
Well of course it's my opinion but if we take your example with Sonic. These games are great examples on how not to do it (with that IP anyway) Jim and EC have both done episodes of this subject to a certain extend and if I recall, I agree with themVolan said:This is in your own personal opinion, mind. You are right, but sometimes a 'learning step' is not what results from these games. Just look at the Sonic series - the developers haven't learnt anything from their past failures, and yet it just keeps going. They only serve as examples to other series now.
Call me crazy for wishing for a world where bad situations get better rather then hitting rock bottom and starting over.sage42 said:Exactly, with out that break we couldn't be where we are today.Twilight_guy said:You do realize that game was the straw that broke the camel's back and killed the games industry for a time right? I don't think dieing helped out games any.sage42 said:actually I'm gonna defend E.T. don't get me wrong it was a crap game, but without it games would not have evolved into what they are today. They would have just become another little toy for people to make for quick cash.Twilight_guy said:I'm getting sick of saying E.T. and Superman 64 so I'm going with something new: Hotel Mario and Mario is missing. I hear they were both pretty god awful.
Also, Mass Effect 4, which actually ripped space-time and created a black hole that destroyed its own existence.Nothing else...
OT: Alan Wake, hated that game. It was not scary, the game play sucked, and the story was bland at best. It was just a Silent Hill(pre-Homecoming)knock-off
A backwards delusion? I don't get what you mean by that. All I know is saying that Melee was rushed and Brawl wasn't, in defense of Brawl is a really weak point.Xeraxis said:I wasn't going to bother an argument. What point I was trying to make was that, in a sum, the rushed game that is Melee is better comparable to an unrushed Brawl, which leaves it as a backwards delusion.

Very true. In the case of my Mary-Kate and Ashley games example a few pages back, these games seem to serve more as fan-service gone wrong. They certainly learned their lesson with that after...3-4 games.Elidan1012 said:Publishes can also use it to see what the public wants(or doesn't), although that isn't always a sign of quality, unfortunately.
I thought Metroid Other M came before Metroid Fusion so it already has a sequelfunguy2121 said:I wouldn't be too surprised if we saw another Prime game in the first couple of years of Wii U's existence. What, are all of the other Wii owners still asleep?
The real shame is that some of the story was compelling, and I'd like to see a sequel, if only one that retconned much of Other M's sorry excuse for a story. Finding out that some of the higher ups within the holy Federation are genetically engineering these things for weapons? Potential! Zero suit potential! Stealth elements potential!
I think it was the game's style that put me off; it seemed a bit too colourful and loopy compared to Red Alert 2. Maybe I was too harsh saying I thought they ruined the Allies, but their units and support powers just seemed worse than the other two factions. That, and I missed my prism tanksCollins254 said:can i just ask why? i love red alert 3, i loved the campaign, i loved the allies the most, the empire of the rising sun was the faction i most disliked, because i felt they had only 2 strategies, shogun battleship sea dominion, or chopper VX early spam.Failhammer said:I've seen opinions like that regarding the first arc of the new Higurashi anime series.Volan said:...leave alone a story that worked for its seriousness and sadness, instead of making a cheesy, happy fan-service spin-off.
On topic: Red Alert 3. As far as I'm concerned, they completely ruined the Allies and the only good part of that game was the Empire of the Rising Sun.
Hold on a second, I enjoyed it, it has good replay value and it's fun to make super weapons. If you prefer the older games, that's fine, but don't get bitchy about it.Collins254 said:Kindom Under Fire: Circle of Doom, was not a KUF game at all, some sort of shoddy like game thing that doesnt deserve an opinion, a review, or for anyone to ever play it again... ever. Im serious dont get it.
I agree with missing the prism tanks, and yes it wasnt as dark as red alert 2, but the gameplay was smooth, i loved the new mirage tanks, i liked how every unit had a support power aswel as its main function, to me added more strategy to the game, i did like the coolness of the japanese faction, but to me it was everything they had that felt weaker than the other 2.Failhammer said:I think it was the game's style that put me off; it seemed a bit too colourful and loopy compared to Red Alert 2. Well thats your opinion and fair enough, i wish they hadnt called it a KUF game though, yes it used the same characters but thats like picking up C&C5 Kanes vengence and finding out now your playing a FPS as kane, yes it could be a great game to someone but C&C fans generally would be expecting an RTS, as i was with Circle of Doom, i played 2 hours of it, realised i wasnt going to be able to play it like the old KUF games, and if i wanted a game like that id have bought dynasty warriors, same gameplay style but better games IMO.Choose a Username said:Hold on a second, I enjoyed it, it has good replay value and it's fun to make super weapons. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to play KUF:COD.
