Super Mario: Sunshine. The worlds were great and I had a blast with the FLUDD. I honestly can't see why the fans don't like it.

I'm also gonna jump of the Mass Effect 3 bandwagon.

Firstly Fable 3, even though I missed the rpg elements and the combat was repetitive, it was the only one in the series where I really cared about the world and the story.

and I also liked DA:2 but that seems to be a trend.

Going a bit further back in time I would say Dues Ex: Invisible War! That's right I like it! Yes you got thrown into the conspiracy pretty much straight away & some design aspects were annoying but overall it was still a fun game & still better that alot of other fps games at the time (and still alot better than the ones released this generation).

Also Goldeneye: Rogue Agent! I thought the controls were tight & responsive, with challenging gameplay & a fairly decent story!

For a game this generation? I would say Bioshock 2! I really enjoyed it! I liked the story, atmosphere & the multiplayer is quite fun & im still playing it since it came out!
Thinking about it, I don't know that too many people thought invisible war was bad so much as disappointed when compared to its predecessor. I wouldn't call it a must play, but yeah, at the time it was still well above average.

Zelda II: the Adventure of Link. It was one of my first purchases from the Wii's store, and I liked it a lot. The only reason I could see for the hate it gets is the difficulty. Other than that, it's a solid game well worth the 500 points.

Another vote for Duke Nukem Forever. Just bought it and really enjoying myself
I've actually been thinking of maybe trying that out. I mean, it looks like it's actually fun. Sure, buggy and all. But it looks fun. I see a lot of people hate it because certain aspects make it feel like a game from 2001 (yet, people like Serious Sam a lot and got all hyped about a port of Halo), while other aspects feel more modern. This actually interests me. The only thing holding me back is the content. I can deal with Serious Sam, Halo, Left 4 Dead, whatever. But, the stuff in Duke Nukem Forever seems a bit much for me. I've heard Duke Nukem 3-D had a content filter, and even got a censored version called "Duke Nukem 64". However, I have just never been able to confirm if Duke Nukem Forever has a content filter or not. Can anyone here tell me if it does or not?

I've been thinking about looking into this one as well. I've been rather intrigued by Electronic Arts' take on the 007 videogames.

Maybe it's because it isn't violent? (I wouldn't know for sure, but the ESRB content box only mentioned "Comic Mischief".) It's structured differently, Mario has this gimmicky tool the whole time, there's a darker plot reminiscent of Sonic Adventure 2 in numerous ways, there's a lot more dialogue, there's a near-death scene, it's got an all-island theme... But, I'd like to try it as well! I often find myself liking things that are strange or unpopular.

I'd like to try Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts and finally come to a true conclusion.
It looks like fun in it's own regard. Just different (VERY different) from the classic titles.

Agree with guy who said 'spore.' Sure, EA gutted it completely to sell if off a bit at a time, but damn those editors were good. I must have spent a hundred hours just making things in that game.
Also the game gets a thousand times better once you get the adventure expansion pack thingy. It lets you build missions for people. Again, I spent hours detailing little worlds for other people to explore. Ice planet, Cemetary, Jungle planet... and then filling them up with half arsed objectives once I was done because, meh, making all the pretty things is the interesting bit.
User - generated content is a rather large double edged sword, most users of any game are idiots with no idea about pacing or structuring or even testing to see if the mission is possible. Grr.

Also MW2. And all of the 'main' halo games (ie NOT odst or halo wars) aaand I think that's about it.

Oh and Fable 2 might count. Although idk how much hate it really got.

Every single Dynasty Warriors game.
I realise they are all practically the same and the gameplay is very repetetive. But I can't explain it, I just can't get enough of them.

Bioshock 2. One of my favourite games... and I didn't think the first one was all that good. So shoot me :p
People hated Bioshock 2? I absolutely loved it and thought it did the job a sequel was supposed to do. That is, take the original game and make it MUCH better. Only thing I didn't really like was that Bioshock 2 didn't have that fear factor thing from Bioshock, but it's probably because I was already used to Rapture. *shrug*

I really enjoyed playing MW2 and MW3 (for the short time I played it. Kinda had a fallout of FPS games. Am really into Bullet Hell games, LoL, and JRPGs right now.)

there were lots of people who felt like bioshock 2 was a terrible rushed sequel.

I liked it myself.

I really liked Silent Hill Shattered Memories on the Wii. I went into it with the mindset of it being it's own thing and I think that's what helped. Sure, it wasn't scary but it was an excellent story that gets better with an extra play through or two.

I love how the the entire game is pretty much you playing through Cheryl's life . I especially liked how HS was represented.

Bioshock 2, yeah I agree the plot could a use some work and Lamb isn?t as awesome as Andrew Ryan but the gameplay was much better (still not great tho), I love the Big Sisters, I liked defending the little sister and I liked the ending.

Bulletstorm, sometimes I just want to shoot some guys in the dick ok?

Mirrors edge also but I don?t think that was really ?hated? just ignored.

Also, Sonic Unleashed. The night stages were bad and there were too much of them but the day stages were good.
Thank you. That is exactly what I tell people when they ask me about Sonic Unleashed.

Bioshock 2: I looooved this game and disliked the first. The majority opinion is the other way around, and a lot of people called Bioshock 2 a terrible sequel.

Dead Space 2: Same thing. Most people say that Dead Space 1 was more "scary" and 2 was too "actiony", hell I LIKE actiony then.

Mass Effect 3: It was an awesome game, even the end that people like to rage over so mch.

Gears of War 2/3: I really don't know why so many people associate Gears with Call of Duty. One's a first person shooter set in modern times, the other has you chainsawing giant monsters in half.

The hate train is strong against most of my favorite games.

Final Fantasy X
Easily the best in the franchise for me.
Yet, because of one scene (you know the one), which was purposely corny and embarrassing, people avoid it like the plague.

Far Cry 2.

A lot of people say the game has no point.

I think that kind of *IS* the point, seeing as it's about nihilism.

Could it have done with a few less "checkpoints" you have to drive through? Yeah. Was it still fun? Heck yeah.
I'd forgotton Farcry 2. Fucken loved that game.

Fallout 3. The hardcore fans think it's the worst in the series, but it's my favorite.

It was far superior to New Vegas in atmosphere and scale.

[small]But the characters in New Veagas were better by a long shot.[/small]
I'll do you one better. I loved Fallout Tactics. Sure, it didn't get the setting quite (or even close to) right, but it is a solid strategy game that is as fun as it is challenging and it uses the SPECIAL system.

Also, I preferred New Vegas too, but Fallout 3 was still great, with the exception of Little Lamplight.
Aww yeah! Tactics was ace! At least till you got energry weapons and power armour because then you just ran your team around in a big block murdering everything. kind of like how in DoW2 as soon as you unlocked terminator armour you just group selected your guys and attack-moved across the map.
