Games you regret buying

Doom 3 for PC. Not because it was bad, but because my system requirements don't meet it.

The first that come to mind are Soul Calibur IV, GTA 4, and Jak 2/3. The Jak sequels lacked so much of the charm that the first game had. The first game was funny, and bright, and refreshing. It revitalized the adventure/platformer for me, but the sequels were dull and gritty. It was a cheep attempt to try and attempt to siphon some of the popularity of the GTA games of the time, and it ruined what could have been a great series.

Metro 2033. I just found it boring all round.

I liked metro....but that's just cause i'm a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. fanboy.

OT: Probably Chromehounds, fuck you and your all grenade launcher/sabre hovercraft, lightweight , charging bitches! And you heavy gunners too, oh the rage. Also, Far Cry 2, two words: Jeep Patrols. And to an extent, The Outfit, bought it much too late and there was no online community :/

Guitar Hero World Tour. I didn't think it was possible to mess up as simple a concept like strumming to plastic guitar, so naturally Activision had to put together the most lackluster set list possible. (Or so I thought, everyone says GH5 is even worse) I recently sold it on Amazon...for about $10. *sigh*

That put me off the whole 'plastic instrument' thing for a while, until I played Rock Band 2. Harmonix, thank you. Just thank you.

Oh right, I almost forgot about the WiiWare version of Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney. However, I only got it because it was the only game in the series I didn't already own. But that still doesn't make it any less painful that it's such a lazy, half-assed port. Seriously Capcom, you couldn't have even added pointer functionality?

i thought guitar hero world tour had some good songs like livin on a prayer and hotel california btw only songs i ever played lol

I liked some songs, such as Livin' on a Prayer, Eye of the Tiger, One Way or Another, the Joker...thing is, all of these songs are in Rock Band 2, either on the disk or as DLC. And even most of the songs I bought for World Tour are on Rock Band network. I'm missing one or two of my favorites now (Prisoner of Society...*sniff*) but I thank it's a good trade-off considering RB2 has a vastly superior setlist.

I'd say Modern Warfare 2, mainly because after about 6 months of playing and enjoying it mainly for the Spec Ops and Campaign, I was planning on selling it to my friend for $40. And of course, the day before I bring it to him, the game mysteriously disappears when I go on vacation. That was months ago, I still haven't found it.

Along with that, Lost Planet and, flameshield ready, Garry's Mod. I'm just not a creative person, I can't get in that game and work on a contraption for hours at a time. I actually prefer linearity and instructions to having absolutely no limitations or guidelines, I just don't enjoy it.

Street Fighter IV. I got it for like 20 dollars right before Super Street Fighter IV came out. I didn't know about Super Street Fighter IV, though. And I suck at the game. I got sick of being absolutely demolished by that obscenely fat nerdy dude, and didn't play anymore after a couple weeks.

The same thing happened to one of my friends. He said, "Nobody told me there was going to be a Super Street Fighter IV."

I got him really pissed at me too. The highest difficulty he can play it on is medium and even then it can be too hard for him, but after a did a few play throughs on the Easiest to Medium, I decided to crank the difficulty up to the highest, I can't remember what it is called, Ultra Extreme Hard or some such crazy level. My play through on that was actually faster and felt easier than Medium.

I recommend playing against the Mexican guy (can't remember his name) on the highest difficulty setting. It is hilarious to watch. It is like you are fighting Speedy Gonzales, he is just that fast and funny sounding.

Star Wars: Force Unleashed.

Looked good before I got it, then I ended up finishing the game only because I wanted to feel alright about taking it back. (I can't really bring myself to not finish a game I buy).

Not one I regret buying, but I most definitely regret selling Prince of Persia Sands of Time. Why why why!?

Why was i so naieve to believe mass effect 2 would be enough when it came out? WHYYYYYYYYY?!?!!?

oh and fyi i sold mass effect one a bit before i heard of the second one but a long time before it came out, not just before i bought the second one and they had already said save games matter

The Conduit was one... I bought it brand new thinking it would bring me back to the Wii. Then I got to the part where I had to turn around but I couldn't do it fast enough and it would be too sensitive or not sensitive enough... it was a disaster.

Prey was a waste of money as well. After the 15th puzzle in a row where I had to go into spirit walk and find a way to get me across a gap I just gave up on it. The intro sequence was excellent, though.

I loved Soul Calibur IV. I don't have a copy myself, but my friend did, until it got laser burnt by his 360.

I think one of the best parts of it was the character creation and edit mode. Nothing is greater in the game than playing as Mitsurugi with an Afro, we called him "Frourugi" We also had a version of him with a Wizard hat and a monical, "Wizarugi", not creative name wise, but funny.

I think the best one my friend did was a total character creation that looked like Sean Connery, though there wasn't a voice that was close enough to fit it.

But I guess I didn't see it as bad, or a waste of money if I did buy it (which I would if I had the money), because I don't expect fighting games to be that ground breaking, as long as it has solid control-ability, which I feel IV has, I will like it.

Dragon Rage
I got it, hoping it could compare to one of my other favorite dragon games (Drakengard). Oh man, this game failed on every single level. I didn't even make it past the tutorial before I was sickened with it.

I regret buying any game i complete in 8 hours because i could of rented it instead of buying it. I have no interest in playing online and achievemants so I see it as a waste of £40.

This here is me. I TRY to play the games online to make them last a little longer, but frankly... I tend to regret damn near every game I buy.

Luckily this doesn't
happen often.

I don't know what games you've been playing for the last 5 or so years... but hook me up with the list... Clearly there are more games out there worth looking into than I was aware of, if it doesn't happen to you often.
