Mass Effect 2 and Red Dead Redemption. Neither held me for very long and I have no real plans to finish them unless I get really really bored. Got them both on release day as well so that's loads of cash down the drain.

I have this thing about not returning games now in case something gets valuable in the future lol.

Darksiders wasn't very good at all. It was like a Legend of Zelda game with all the fun removed.
Thank you kind sir. Been ranting on this game for a while, first game to ever really piss me off. Always nice to be assured there's always someone out there who agrees.

Also, Resident Evil 5. They just shouldn't have made it and everything would be fine.

R.U.S.E.: I bought it together with my Move set, to try to have a "hardcore" Move game, and never played it.
Incidentally, I regret buying the Move.

Modern Warfare 2 ($60): A few hours of stereotypical action melodrama, watching cutscenes in which I died at varying levels of humility, multiplayer full of annoying 12 to 20 year olds running around being generally goofy, and worst of all, being stuck with them. No server list? Match-maker system? Makes me furious just thinking about it. I saw on Steam that for the first time, MW2 actually had a price drop. It's been over a year now or sommat, and only now it gets dropped from $60? Pricks. Not even worth the $40 it costs now.

Mirror's Edge ($50): Personally I think Mirror's Edge is a great game. Just shame it was only great for 3 hours and then I had to find a new game to play cause I'd finished it. It's $20 on Steam now, and it's worth it. Shame I got it then instead though.

Far Cry 2 ($50): I must have been on a gaming spree when these games came out, because already I've spent $160 on mediocre games. Similar to Mirror's Edge however, I did enjoy Far Cry 2; it's beautiful world being set in gritty war-torn Africa was a wonderful twist compared to all other games taking place in the gritty war-torn middle-east. Even aside from looking pretty, I thought the gameplay was quite fine, though enemies did soak up a few too many bullets than I thought plausible. But despite the huge game world, there just didn't seem much to do; despite the side missions and such, the rewards simply didn't feel, rewarding. Very enjoyable all the same however, and on reflection, it's only because of the limited replay value that I put this game in the list--though it's still more re-playable than some. Would have been worth $40 most I feel. It's now $20 on Steam.

Asssassin's Creed II ($60/Paid $45): I can't even think of what to say here. Worth $40? Probably. But that whole DRM business, and the content of the game itself, not worth $60.

Total Cost: $220
Total Spent: $205
Should Have Spent: $140

Why did you regret Dead Rising 2 and Just Cause 2?

OT: I definitely regret buying CoD3, Eragon, and the Saboteur. Don't know what I was thinking about the first two, just being stupid. And the Saboteur was just so boring I haven't even been able to finish it

Worst game I regret even renting... Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games. I regret even putting it in my Wii. I regret even thinking about it. I regret wasting at least 10 minutes of my life.

Also Prototype, and every MMO that failed miserably. Age of Conan, Warhammer Online, FFXIV... yeah, lol.

Last Remnant
Crap, pure crap. Crap story, crap characters, crap combat, crap everything. It's schizophrenic at best. This game has no allure and no appeal, characters are shallow in personality, awfully designed, voice-acting is laughably mediocre. This game had /nothing/ to drive me to keep playing after an agonizing hour of putting up with it. This game is one of the reasons I hate JRPGS.

Portal 2
Great game, don't get me wrong. I don't know why I suddenly had an aneurysm and bought it when I really should've rented it, no replay value at all.

Deadly Premonition
Same-y characters, same-y combat, same-y enviroments. It's like GTA Sandbox meets Silent Hill meets Japan. This game is laughable. It even knows it's laughable, it can't even take ITSELF seriously. Puzzles are so simple a toddler could solve them, side-quest take precedence over MURDER MAIN-PLOT, the main character talks to himself in public, and you almost Sim-esque take care of the main PC. Combat, again, it a special Silent Hill variety of special along with degrading weapons. It's mashing quick-time events, mostly. Also, there's something very wrong with a game where a pipe kills anything in one hit (also destroyed in 4 uses), but a pistol requires you to empty a whole friggen clip into monster skulls before they die. Also, you have infinite ammo. This game fails every front of a horror-esque game.

Tales of Legendia
Calling this game a fetid piece of dogshit is giving it too much credit.

Black Ops
Fuck off.

GTA4 - Was so dull compared to the older GTA games plus the vehicle controls were terrible
Vehicle controls? Well i love gta4 controls, i played some san andreas today at my friends place and i couldn't believe how much it sucked.
Ok I actually meant to say vehicle handling not controls(the actual controls were no different than a lot of other games). It was the handling that annoyed me.Most of the vehicles handled like oil tankers which made things like escaping from the cops/chasing targets very frustrating.I get that they were going for a more realistic approach but GTA didn't become popular because it was realistic. If I want a game with realistic vehicle handling then I'll play Forza or something similar

Too Human (silicon knights! i'll totally buy it!!!! =D) big mistake.

I'm waiting on Brink, a few patches and it could be really fun. But as of now it's really sub-par.

I couldn't disagree more. I think GTA IV's vehicle handling is far better than the previous games in the series. Though admittedly my perspective on it isn't the most common one, since I've always played GTA games on the PC using a keyboard.

Driving with a keyboard, the vehicle handling in the older GTAs was twitchy as hell, to the point that I'd consciously avoid sports cars (even though they're supposed to be the most desirable vehicles) because their extreme responsiveness makes it impossible to drive smoothly. It even makes it difficult to keep going in a straight line without constantly overcorrecting. And no, I'm not a bad driver, I could drive well even under those circumstances, it just wasn't pleasant. And if I wanted to have a calm, smooth cruise around the city? Forget about it.

In GTA IV I actually can cruise smoothly around, and I can apply the brakes without them immediately locking up, but I can also drive like a madman and enjoy that too because the handling is more nuanced and the cars don't have perfect grip that takes all the challenge out of it. I can do stuff like this.

I don't understand why anyone finds cornering difficult in this game. Brake a little before the turn, lay off the accelerator as you turn, accelerate on exit. And if that doesn't do it for you, learn to use the handbrake.
