Games you respect but don't play.

Minecraft, did not appeal to me.

Starcraft 2. I can't play it for the life of me, but the pro players must be amazing multi taskers.

A couple of games:

- FIFA and Pro Evo Soccer. They're really good at what they do, but I hate football.
- Starcraft 1 and 2, I'm just too shit at micromanagement, but they look fantastic.
- World of Warcraft, played it for ages but I just ran out of stuff to do, still love it.
- ARMA and Red Orchestra, they look fantastic and I love what they do, but I'll probably die in seconds.
- EVE Online, I adore the idea of an entirely player-run universe, complete with economy and politics, but the time investement is too great.
- Grand strategy games like Europa Universalis and Victoria. Their complexity is fantastic but I just fail at it.
- Most fighting games, as I just can't remember all the combos and execute them in a split second. Kudos for everyone who can.

I like the idea, I think it's cool and I can see why those who play it love it.

However, I took one look at the interface and ran for the hills. Besides, I'm not into ASCII graphics. I need my pictures.

Still think it's a neat game though.

Google for the "Lazy Newb Pack". That includes several tools and sprite packs that make the game a lot easier on the eye and mind. Really helped me get into the game as well.

For me it would be the Fallout series, I'm pretty sure if I started playing one I would enjoy it but something has stopped me whenever I've considered buying it or borrowing it from my mate.

The one time I enjoyed it was when I wasted about forty of my friends Pokeballs (Including a master ball) trying to catch a Growlith.

None, I mean really, NO game comes to mind. I at least try games I'm interested in, but I don't respect any game now in days that I don't own, because, frankly, games have stagnated. If there was one, it would be CoD players, the fact that they can play an increasingly shitty series is just brilliant.

It's basically all in the title.
These are games that you acknowledge are good, even great, but you just don't play them for whatever reason. Mine is Mass Effect. I have alot of friends that play it, but I just don't. I understand it's an epic sci-fi game, and I've tried to like it, I WANT to like it but just never clicked with me when I played it. I'm not trying to find some smug way to say it's bad, I'm aware it's great and probably better than half the games I play, I just don't know why I don't like it.
But enough about my sob story, tell me yours!

I have it on my PC, but I've never even opened it. I realise it would be awesome, but I don't want to have to have the technical skill of a computer programmer to even start playing.

Also, RTS games in general. I'm sure they're fun, but I'm not patient enough to get steamrollered for hundreds of games until I'm good enough to hold my own.

Fallout 3, and by extension all it's add-ons, sequels etc. The mechanics look really enjoyable; it just seems a bit slow paced for a shooter (which it isn't but the display and camera choices make it look like one) and more importantly I just can't get past the post-apoc setting.

Also Starcraft 2 for the reasons others have mentioned before me.

Any RTS ( except halo wars , i hate halo so much i can't respect any game with the word halo in it , i will be the bigger man and admit it is unjustified hate since i have never played a halo game )

RTS is interestIng as a genre , but i just don't have the time to go through a half hour battle . But the masters of these types of games earn my respect tenfold. Same thing applies to fighting games , can't be bothered to master a character or 2 ( although i will try when UMvC comes out ).

Pretty much any stealth-based game with the sole exception of Splinter Cell: Conviction. I've tried and tried to play so many different stealth games (virtually every MGS, Splinter Cell & Thief) and while I can plainly see that they're "good games", they always feel so obtuse and inaccessible to me, so I don't play them. Conviction is the only stealth game that has felt varied and accessible enough for me to see it through to the end. It had a great, easy to follow plot too, especially considering it's the latest of god-knows-how-many games.

Starcraft 1/2 for sure, I understand how you get to the top but I'm not willing to do the 1000 clicks per second training to get there.

Shoot-em-up's, I understand the memory and dexterity skills required but that is not my thing

Punishing platformers, I will not replay the entire damn level for every minor error, just no.

Just to name a few.
The list goes on and on, to play all the games in all the systems we have today,
first we had to have lots of money and 250 hours days
And never eat or sleep

Team Fortress 2.

I simply can't get into it, I love their humor, my friends play it, but when I try to play it I just get frustrated and confused. I don't have that problem when playing CoD, but funnily enough my friend who loves TF2 can't get into CoD.

Guess they're just two different kinds of FPS's.
